I can remember when people said that about the Cheesecake Factory!

Seriously, though, I wonder if it could spawn some redevelopment, at least housing, farther up the expressway. Are their any tenants in those small office buildings on the south side between Villa and May?

No, it was bought by Citizen Potawatomi Nation for their Sovereign Bank and they had a plan to scrape everything and build new, but now they bought Union Plaza so I don't know what is going to happen there. (Side note: growing up, my family doctor was in that middle building and he was super old school; would often make house calls.)

Usually when new-to-market and known/coveted places (both dining AND retail) arrive in OKC the demand outstrips expectations. Sometimes it results in a place becoming the top performer in the region or even the nation for a while. OKC generally has tons of pent-up demand, which is probably a result of often being overlooked in favor of other markets.
OKC also has very little "big city" traffic so people are very willing to drive 20-25 min (which in OKC covers tons of the metro) so the retail projected retail audience target circle is usually way way smaller then the actually retail audience

(i understand these are not the correct retail terms)

I still think the name is hilarious and probably not very good for a nice-ish hotel bar, but excited to check it out!

It's cool that the art was the first thing dedicated and not an afterthought like a lot of developments

First image is of the hotel lobby; nothing on the first level other than elevators; there are separate retail bays facing the park.

You go up to the second level for hotel registration and Cloud Puncher restaurant and bar. Cloud Puncher is the name of the sculpture with the cowboy lassoing the cloud that is adjacent to the huge outdoor deck and pool area.

The floor in Cloud Puncher looks like carpet but is actually really cool tile. The bar has a big roll-up window that opens to the outdoor space, ala Jones Assembly. The ballroom is at the far north end of the 2nd level.

2nd to last photo is the storefront for Williams Sonoma. The entire site is still a full-on construction zone. 50th is only open on the far east end; just enough to provide entrance to the parking lot next to Pottery Barn. I'm sure 50th will be completely open soon.

Really satisfying after all these years to see the first business open. The rest of the dominos will start to fall in October.

I just imagine a heavy metal band every time I hear it. Won't keep me from going in any way and of course understand the reference...it's just...a choice. (Really wish we could add .gifs here, as the angry man yelling at clouds Simpsons meme would be perfect here.)

Game changer. Coming for the OU/TN game this weekend. Plan to visit this and other new buildings etc in OKC. From all appearances very well done

If anyone goes to the restaurant or bar in the hotel, be prepared.

The entire site is still a construction zone and it's a pretty big mess.

Not discouraging anyone from going because the hotel setup is very nice, just manage your expectations.

Is it safe to assume everyone parks to the south next to Pottery Barn at the time?

Also, I am going to the soft opening of the new PB on 10/3. I will send Pete pics.

Yes. Then you just walk along the park and turn right into the hotel lobby and take the elevator up to the 2nd level.

Lively Hotel has some great lighting that is particularly visible as you round the curve on I-44 westbound.

Pete, now that the hotel is open, PB will open on 10/4 and the apartments will start to open, any word on when we find out about other tenants?

I don't think we'll see any new tenant announcements until after the first of the year.

Everything should be open by the end of the year except RH. However, I walked through there today and Mesero still hasn't started much work.
