Thread: In-n-Out Burger

  1. Default Re: In-n-Out Burger

The validation craving is never sated. I recall when "if we could just get a Cheesecake Factory" and "if only we had a PF Chang's" were the phrases of the day. Well, they finally arrived, and you, me and everyone else has basically forgotten about them. Old hat. The same can be said for retail such as Whole Foods, West Elm, Container Store, Restoration Hardware, etc. Is it nice to have those places? Of course. Would we be somehow less of a city of one or more of those were missing? Not really.

    Very true.

I think, for me, whenever we do land one of the desired chains, I end up going maybe once or twice then rarely go to the one here and then never go to it when I travel.

I usually hit In N Out if I can when I'm visiting somewhere that has them, but I suspect that if we get one here, I wouldn't go with any real frequency and probably would just stop going altogether when I'm in one of their other markets. There's no doubt it would do well, though.

Agreed........not like we would be getting something really validating and the king of drunk 2 am food.....white castle!!

The thread just say "In-N-Out" burgers, doesn't say any thing about fast ood.

If a thread just said "McDonald's" would you compete it to Chili's or New State? No, because those are sit-down restaurants, not fast food. Or Freddie's steak burger to Mahogany.

    Same difference.

If it didn't specify "fast food" yes, I would. But who's to argue details!

Plus, it's easy. In-n-Out is food, so if you don't like it, just...don't get it. I, for one, would love to have it here.
This is 100% how I see it too. It gives me more options when I'm hungry and want a fast-food burger. While I wouldn't say In-n-Out's burgers are mindblowing or anything, they do make a solid burger that I crave on occasion. It would be nice to have one if possible. It's the same way I feel about Culver's or White Castle or Krystal's.

There is a slight bit of validation to having them here, in that it means we really are growing as a city; the larger a city/metro area is, the more diverse restaurants it can support. So it's cool from that standpoint too, but not a driving force as to why I would want In-n-Out to open a store here.

People who don’t get in-n-out just don’t get it. I hope one comes to OKC but so far I’m not impressed with any other than the west coast. In fact I’m going to get one now that I think about it.

The ones in Texas are not nearly as good as the one's in LA.

According to this report, In-N-Out has recently been looking for a site in OKC.

    I would rather have a Portillo's than In-N-Out .

Going to a well managed Braum's is better than any in-an-out in Texas.

I absolutely love In N Out and I've eaten at the one in Dallas and thought it was exactly the same as those in SoCal.

Plus, it's still very reasonable for very fresh food.

The problem is that's hard to find.

All In N Outs seem very well managed. At least, every one that I've been to. They all seem to handle a **** ton of volume with ease and a smile.

Thankfully, this town is big enough for the both of 'em.

I really don't think Portillo's would look at In-N-Out coming here and think "damn! they beat us to it. Oh, well, let's move on".

And also, is that quick serve restaurant with dozens of locations in multiple states as good as it is in Illinois?

Honestly It’s a little late for me to care. I’ve eaten at several locations in Texas, California didn’t care enough to go to one in Colorado. Wouldn’t be surprised to see one in Arkansas or Kansas first. I just doubt I’ll eat there. Besides whataburger is just as good. It’s just too late to impress or motivate me. Who cares if there’re going to be everywhere.

Great news to hear. It’s interesting they did not list Chisholm Creek as notable commercial properties under construction.

There isn't any construction there. Lol. Easy to overlook.

True but it makes me wonder if that development is really going to happen as planned. I don’t understand why there isn’t more happening there. That development is moving at a snails pace. And while they have had some turnovers, they seem to get tenants in the buildings pretty quick and the ones that have been there for a while do pretty good. I’m not sure about the new condos they built, but from what I heard the apartment building, they built on the western side of the property has done pretty good. The strip mall, they built along Penn Avenue has done pretty good.

They’ve landed a really good tenant like Ramsey’s Restaurant.

Maybe stuff is happening behind-the-scenes and things will be forward soon, but it just seems like there would be continuous construction. And then there was that big apartment complex to the south that was announced, which would’ve been really cool if it happens and could create some really good synergy. But from some other post that I read, it didn’t look too bright.

ifly seems to be doing good business. Topgolf seems to be doing good business. I don’t know. It’s just kind of weird to me that they aren’t expanding quicker than they are.
