Where Blake is talking about does not look like the Panda Express site. It is the south corner that is being worked on. Panda seems to be north of that lot, next to Taco Bell

    It's Starbucks.

Work starting north of the Starbucks, I'm assuming that's the planned Panda Express?

    Yes, it is.

Walmart creating 150 new stores, redesigning hundreds more

Wonder if this means this location will get built in coming years. Appears Walmart is getting back into building again after a few year pause on new locations

Seeing as there is actual development happening in the area, you'd expect it to be one of the locations to actually get a store. If not, they really need to get off the plot and sell it so it can be developed. I'd love having and emergency grocery store less than 2 miles away and not have to cross Memorial to get there.

Walmart still owns that parcel and it wasn't cheap.

They also own an out-parcel along Rockwell for one of their gas stations.

Since they have made no attempt to sell the land and they already submitted plans years ago (now likely to change due to their evolving business model), I'm sure they will eventually build on this site. The area has grown significantly since their purchase and it seems there is a new housing development announced every week.

@pete Any idea what is going in at 14901 N Rockwell Ave? All I can see is a strip mall development.

Not sure what's going on with the Starbucks construction, but work seems to have come to a halt lately. Meanwhile, Panda is moving right along

Still no movement at Starbucks over the last month. Panda appears to be almost completed, signs are up.

I noticed that this weekend and said the same to my wife. Seems like Starbucks has been in the current state for the better part of 2 months or so. Panda got started a few months back and is already looking close.

I drive by there every weekday and can confirm. After paving the parking lot, they haven't done anything else. Never see any construction workers there anymore either.

It looks like the electrical permit for Starbucks was just issued on June 14th and the plumbing permit was issued on May 30th. Weird that it would take this long for those two permits to be issued, not finaled.

That is very strange. Seems like someone dropped the ball on getting them in time.
