Thread: Palomar

    Midtown Palomar

The Palomar Family Justice Center is a MAPS 4 project that is starting to take shape.

These designs have not received final approval but should be very close to what is built. Architect is AHMM.

This will be directly west of their current site (also owned by Midtown Rennaisance) and contain a cafe with a patio on the southeast corner.

Also, you can see a parking garage will be built to the immediate west and to the south of that -- on the north side of Park Place -- will be housing. MR's holdings are shown in green in the last image.

This area is going to be unrecognizable in a decade.

The real question is what will become of that huge block where Palomar current is located.

City Garden was always meant to be a temporary use, so that whole block will eventually be developed.

    Trader Joe’s would be ideal.

In a perfect world I would love to see a grocery store and some retail/offices on the ground floor with a few levels of apartments above it.

If Trader Joe's was to expand, it would be to Edmond and/or Norman/Moore.

Probably the best bet for a grocer would be Aldi.

That is a good design. I dig it. And it’s a massive improvement over the semi derelict parking lot that is there now. And as Pete mentioned, the lot due east is a huge missing piece in Midtown. That land has to be way too valuable to stay as is.

^This area really needs a massive housing complex + public garage. Something akin to West Village in this area would be a big deal. City Garden is basically just a corpse sitting on that prime corner.

    Nice. Very progressive design.

Yes, they are going through the process of getting their building permit.

Very recently, they demolished City Garden to make way for Midtown Mutts dogpark, which has to be moved for the new Palomar complex.
