Tried to take the family there on Saturday around 8 and the line was out the door and around the corner. Unfortunately my 3 and 1 year olds were in no mood to wait so we will have to go back another time. Everything I've seen and heard so far has been positive. My only complaint is that I can't find their address anywhere on their website, had to go to google maps. It isn't a big deal, but seems like an oversight.
I've been a couple of times since it has opened and my wife has been at least 5 times. She loves it and always brings guests there. My brother-in-law visited us from Chicago and he said he has never had anything like it before. He also commented about how cheap it is, while my other brother-in-law thought it was expensive - so go figure. It truely is unique. I'd encourage everyone to try it at least once.
Base price is $6, right?
Looks good and has extensive hours so hopefully can hit it when not busy. Would be nice though if these young people working on websites realize that us old guys can't read light grey typeset on white. Need a little more contrast. https://www.capitalsicecream.com/our-menu
Went on Sunday night after dinner at Barrios. Line was to the door but went quick. I ordered the Bipartisan and was impressed with how good it was.
$6 for a novelty ice cream cone is not a bad deal. I would say it is priced just right. Coldstone is overpriced, IMO.
Stopped by yesterday

I got the bipartisan in the shake form factor. Comes out to 8 and some change after tax. Not sure what size everybody else gets at coldstone, but I normally get the smallest I can get and it comes out to ~5.
I enjoyed it. Plan on going again to have the cookies and cream.
The wife and I stopped in this weekend, despite the line going out the door it didn't take us long to get through. Their A/C must not have been working that day because ti was hotter inside than out, so the ice cream was fairly soft by time you get your order. However, it was very good given the business. I have had this type of product before, I want to say it was a place up in New Hampshire. They mostly have fresh fruit and fruit flavored ice cream and sherbet. So it was nice having one with cookies and cereal. I got the Cookies n Cream and the wife had the Bipartisan, both were very good and we both though the portion met the value. Definitely not the everyday ice cream prices you want to pay, but it will be in the rotation. The only thing I would want them to add would be to put the ice cream in a cone instead of the cup, the cups are small compared to how much ice cream you get, so you need to be quick to eat or it gets messy!
Rachel Cope just announced a partnership with Capitals Ice Cream. 84 Hospitality managing these locations now?
Roxy's is taking over the old Capitals space in Midtown next to Barrios:
