Looking good. Glad to see OKC stay big league.
Looking good. Glad to see OKC stay big league.
Now 69-31 with nearly 18% of the vote in. Methinks the mayor will likely feel quite vindicated this evening.
I’m delighted. 2023 has been packed with some of OKC’s biggest announcements.
With 24% reporting it’s almost exactly 70/30 right now
Up to 24% and just over 70% Yes. This is cruising so far.
Looks like my 55-45 prediction is gonna be juuuust a little bit off, hah!
This is great. Get the CHAMPAGNE BOTTLES READY!
Huge relief if this holds. HUGE.
It list the turnout whenever you put your ballot in the machine. I was number 140 and a few of my family members behind me made it 143. Then possibly 2 more after that. I don't know the area prospect baptist church covers. But I live fairly close to douglass and I think most of the area from lottie to mlk and up to 23rd votes there. So that kinda tells you how low turnout was for ralph ellison. I suppose it was possibly higher in other areas of the city.
It’s going to hold. Effectively impossible for the No votes to overcome at this point, given projected turnout. No would have to take 80% of remaining vote.
Make OKC Big League in March 2008 had 44,849 voters and 61.9% (27,564) approved the proposal vs 38.1% against.
Looks like that is going to get torched by this vote.
46% reporting. 70.8% for, 29.2% against.
Good link, Scottik - the results are ahead of the local TV stations 4, 5, 9, 25
So can we *please* get some renderings now?
While Yes is definitely going to win, it's likely that the largest precincts are still outstanding so things *could* change rapidly. I feel like I remember the expanded/permissive liquor law looked like it was going to fail but flipped when bigger precincts came in. It was something local in recent memory.
I’ve never seen so many people on an OKCTalk thread at the same time haha. So much excitement!!
Meanwhile DC is losing both nba and nhl

Glad I won’t ever see that breaking news about okc
I didn't expect this margin so far. The folks I know who voted no are on the left and right politically. The silent majority obviously voted yes. It just goes to show we can all agree on Progress.
Slowly starts to chant O K C… O K C…
Jobeth hitting up twitter already. Apparently she still thinks the billion dollars is going to billionaires still and doesn’t understand OKC owns the arena and rent income and the economic value this creates.
She really cannot stand others having different views then her and apparently can’t stand the heat that comes along with having such a differing view.
