    Northwest OKC Taqueria El Camino

This restaurant is operated by Happy Plate Concepts (Sunnyside Diner, Grill on the Hill, Railyard Pie Co.) is relocating to 9120 N. MacArthur.

The Edmond Railyard location has already closed and this new spot should be open in a few weeks.

It's in the center behind Sunnyside.

Taqueria El Camino set to open in new, larger spot

After getting its start in a small, limited spot in the Edmond Railyard, Taqueria will open Thursday 12/22 in a much larger space with an expanded menu and full bar at 9120 N. MacArthur.

El Camino is owned by Happy Plate Concepts, which also operates S&B's Burger Joints, Grill on the Hill, and Sunnyside Diner, including the one directly next to this new restaurant. The group will also soon reopen Classen Grill which is currently under renovation.

They will open 11 AM daily. (Will close this Sat & Sun at 3 PM due to the holidays).

What a great menu. Informative and well laid out. Food looks great and can't wait to try it.

Menu looks good. This is 5 miles straight south of me. I will give it a shot for sure.

We went last night. I messaged the manager the day before to see if they stocked my wife's favorite wine. They didn't but said they'd have it by yesterday. They did. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Good food. A very good rewards program. We'll be regulars.
PS. Only of the partners stopped by and talked to us. They are going to start the patio soon. I don't care about the patio so much but it will block some sun which will be very good for the bartenders. Right now there's about a half hour they can't hardy see.

^I agree with your comments Bill. We have been once and enjoyed it. Very nice staff and fun place. Food was good. We had the stew dish that is in the picture above (I don’t recall the exact name) - it was SPICY but very tasty. Also had some green chili enchiladas and those were good as well. Look forward to going back soon.

Their Taco Tuesday nights are packed. Went last night a little after 6 and there were people waiting outside. Was only about a 15-20 minute wait. Glad to see they are doing well. This place seems to have really caught on.

The same owners opened up Sunnyside right next door and one of them lives very nearby.

They obviously are hitting on a need in this area, plus they just do a really good job in general.

Can't wait for them to reopen Classen Grill.

It was a good strategy to move it to this location it appears. They are getting a nice draw from quite a few neighborhoods in the near and extended area.

We've become regulars a couple nights a week. They are very good. We get off early so we get there around 4 and are gone by 6. Business starts picking up about the time we're leaving. I'm glad to hear they get really busy later.

UPDATE: We went Friday night about 6. Got the last table before they went on a wait. I did not know they charge for the chips and salsa which was $8 with only a small bowl of salsa no refills. For $8 one would think they could afford a refill. I don't mind paying for chips and salsa, but the salsa better be served in a larger amount than what they currently bring to the table. The Tres Leche Coconut cake was my favorite. It is good food for sure!

I had no idea chips & salsa were like that normally. We always go during happy hour when they're cheaper and I think they're a little looser with how much you can get.

30 minute wait tonight at about 6 pm. They seem to be really doing well. Chips and salsa were $4 I think, but maybe that was due to it being Taco Tuesday (and refill of salsa was no charge but maybe due to being so slammed).
