I was so saddened to hear of this.. I have been to the San Francisco Zoo numerous times with my kids and family. I have seen the tigers being put through their paces ( which I've always hated.. it's just so sad to see wild animals acting like trained dogs in a circus). I'm sure I've seen this particular tiger but I can't be sure.

Regardless, a terrible tragedy has occured. I'm amazed that a zoo in a city the size of SF isn't better equipped with safety features.

I feel terribly for the 17 year old kid who lost his life in a horrific way and for his family. I am sympathetic to the other two that were injured as well.

Just a horrible tragic thing to happen on Christmas day.
