the difference of course is that when the sensor show a legit threat to our special operations guy on the ground armed overwatch can actually do something about it ..

we as a military fight terror groups in lots of remote locations that don't have the capability to threaten our air power .. this platform is designed to be cost efficient and pretty portable ..

Sour grapes. I have TSA Pre-check and Clear. They are completely separate systems, and they work together wonderfully. Pre-Check helps you get through security at the airport; Clear helps with your identity check. When you have both it is the speediest way through airport security, especially large ones. The lines are often pre-identity check, hence why Clear gives you the most bang for your buck. I have SIX people on my Clear family membership. As much as we travel this is money well spent, especially now that we can use it at our home airport.

No one will hijack a US airliner in our lifetimes. 9/11 happened because people were used to hijacking meaning landing in Cuba or a remote air strip and getting off the plane. The general population will not allow anyone to get close to that cockpit door and still have a pulse.

I’m not saying security isn’t necessary, but it’s largely just an exercise of theatrics. The TSA fails detection audits every day around the country.

We haven't had any major security breaches in airports or on airplanes for 20 years now, so I think it's at least worked or been well enough to deter.

Our back yard overlooks the flight paths coming in OKC. Even then....we don't see a lot of big boys coming in like Atlas Air 8598, B744 which appears to be the cargo version of the 747. Just landed...wish I had gotten a picture as she looked majestic in the air.

Based on some of the social media from OU, it looks like it is a passenger charter that took the Sooners to the Cheez-It Bowl. Pretty cool.

My understanding; CLEAR is not a government program nor do you bypass TSA security, CLEAR confirms your identity allowing you to bypass the TSA lines. Global Entry/NEXUS/etc are govt programs allowing heavy background confirmed low risk pax to bypass TSA security. Completely different thing which I’m glad to be a member of.

Using your last thought; CLEAR is like cutting the line to vote, Global Entry/NEXUS/etc is like bypassing Election Officials altogether.

Wow, people. Clear is not a right. Voting is. Flying by airline is not a right. Voting is.

And besides, there is something you can do to not have to stand in line to vote. It's called absentee voting. You have to do a little prep ahead of time, and a little extra paperwork and you get it for a whole year. It's a great benefit, and my wife and I do it most years. While that is free, it's not totally unlike doing the prep and paperwork ahead of time to get TSA Pre-Check for 5 years, or Clear for a year.
