I know we're probably a ways off from it yet, but I cannot wait for the new construction here to start going vertical.

They first have to finish the utilities and then put in the new alignment of NW 50th.

But then they should be ready to go on the apartments and hotel and some free-standing restaurants and retail should closely follow.

They named it Oak and then cleared all but two of them?

I really like everything about this development but I do think that’s a weird name.

Country Club Plaza. Utica Square. Highland Park Village. Buckhead.

    Oak.

Oh well! To be fair, they might not be trying to channel that same vibe.

Post on Page 11 talks about changing the name from Penn Central to Oaks.

Wow. This last picture of the cleared land with cars onsite to show scale really demonstrates how transformative this project is going to be for that area. I'm sure that's been clear to others for a while, but I'm someone who has trouble visualizing scale until I see a picture like that. This is going to be huge for the area--literally.

You can see the new alignment of NW 50th starting to take shape; the curve is right where all the equipment is located and then would go straight into the existing light on Penn.

Back when this project was first announced one of the tenants of 50 Penn told me that the car wash was going to be taken down and a steakhouse/restaurant would be put in its place. Any truth to this?

I asked car wash owner Jim Blakewell about selling within the last year. He was kinda put off, and said no. I think he owns the real estate.

Things are starting to take shape...

You can see the outline of the new NW 50th alignment which will tie into the existing light on Penn which also serves 50 Penn Place.

The brightest red soil is the site of the hotel with retail on the first level. To the west will be the large common area (just to the east of the backhoe), then west of that you can see that large rectangular outline that will be the apartments with retail on the ground floor.

I'm glad others enjoy this sort of thing.

I personally find it helpful to create graphics so I can stay clear on what is under development.

Stay tuned for a big announcement about this project, maybe as soon as tomorrow (Monday).

For the life of me I cannot imagine that much retail space being occupied. It would be great to see lots of foot traffic and full retail spaces being used. But I have my doubts. Hope I'm wrong.

They already have most of it leased.

All national tenants, just like Classen Curve but bigger stores.

    Stay tuned.

What used to be on that land? Or nothing, never developed?

Nice to see new development. But I will point out that area is terribly unwalkable, like if one were to stay at the new hotel on this parcel, and trying to walk over to belle isle shops or that chik fil a...good luck!

this is great but I HATE that the have parking spaces along Pennsylvania Ave and didn't align the buildings to the street. Also, there doesn't appear to be any sidewalks OUTSIDE the development (along the streets); hope I'm wrong.

We MUST stop letting developers in OKC build without implementing sidewalks and landscaping along the existing roads. We also need to mandate that all development inside the inner ring not have street facing parking lots. Save that type of development for the outer rings of the city and suburbs. Thank you.
    Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!

There are existing sidewalks along NW expressway that look like they are not being touched and it looks like new sidewalks along Penn. The new sidewalks look like a dark grey box along Penn. It is probably some sort of pattern that is too hard to make out. The pattern that looks like hatching surrounding the all the buildings is landscaping. These type of plans do not show specific details. Just general areas to be landscaped. Right of way makes it hard to landscaped between the sidewalk and the street since it belongs to the city
