Anyone else going? I can't wait to have some decent salsa and tortillas! Oh, and the game should be fun too

I am not going but that sounds great! I can't wait to go bar hopping on the Riverwalk this summer. Oh, and Sea World too. Does whale pee make anyone else's skin burn?
If you can dream it, you can do it!
I thought about it but tickets, hotel, food, and gas for two, I might as well take a vacation to anywhere in the US I want for the money.
Misty, I know San Anton has some good Mexican, but you can get pretty authentic stuff right here in OKC. There are plenty of tortillarias in Stockyards City and Capitol Hill.
Metro, you are ALWAYS trying to get people to stay here! No Dallas, No San Antonio! Where are the totillarias in Stockyards City... I work there.
If you can dream it, you can do it!
I see your point CM, but I don't try to KEEP people here but try to educate them about offerings that OKC has that most people aren't aware of. I know Misty recently moved to the area, although she used to live here, but perhaps she or someone else might not know about the booming hispanic population here or the tortillarias, pandarias, carnicerias and other places in the metro. Too many people for so long left OKC for Dallas, LA, etc. for some things they could have got here. I realize its great to get away (I do too), however I believe in promoting my hometown as much as possible and hopefully educating others on places they might not otherwise know about in their own backyard.
The one I go to I want to say is off SW 17th and Agnew on the lefthand side of the road. Don't quote me on that, I forget the name of the place but I'll let you know next time I'm over that way.
I am going as well--will be my first visit to San Antonio. Any specific nightlife hotspots/OU Central on Friday night on the Riverwalk or anywhere else anyone knows about?
I just called the Alumni office and they said there are no "official" spots. If I hear anything different I'll post it. My friend said he read in the paper that reservations are recommended as the restaurants are filling up.
Sports Animal will be at Mad Dogs
'Twas the night before the Big XII and all through the land,
not a Tiger was stirring, not even the band.
Their Jockeys were hung by the locker with care,
in hopes that the Sooners soon would be there.
Truman was nestled all snug in his bed,
while visions of the BCS danced in his head.
And Pinkel in his kerchief full of Tiger pride,
and Bob and the Sooners ready to ride.
When down in San Antone there arose such a clatter,
Chase sprang from his bed to see what was the matter.
He realized the Option was gone in a flash,
and Maclin's dreams of running had just been dashed.
The Tiger tight ends trembled as they watched the show,
A Crimson and Cream luster set the horizon aglow.
When what to their wondering eyes should they find,
but a miniature Schooner, seven National Titles behind.
With a wizened old driver, skilled in leading his troops,
they knew in a moment it must be Bob Stoops.
More rapid than Temple his players they came,
and he whistled and shouted and called them by name.
"On Bradford, on Joe John, now Patrick and Murray!
On Chris Brown! On Iglesias! On Hartley and Kelly!
To the top of the conference! To the top of it all!
Now dash their hopes! Dash their dreams! Dash away all!"
And then in a twinkling, the Tigers fought back a scream,
and Chase saw the last of his Heisman trophy dream.
The defense drew in their breath and looked all around,
and realized that their "Pig" was nowhere to be found.
Bob's eyes how they twinkled, his coaches how merry!
As they carried on the legacy left them by Barry.
Gary's sad little face and a fear in his belly,
he shook on the field as his knees turned to jelly.
Pinkel spoke not a word, and the ball they couldn't carry,
Stoops filled up the scoreboard and then turned to Gary.
And laying his hand on the shoulder of his friend,
he gave Pinkel a nod and said, "Like Norman again."
Bob sprang to the Schooner, to his team gave a shout,
to the BCS they flew and left Mizzou down and out.
And we heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
"Boomer Sooner to All and to All a Good Night!"
What time is the game... 5?
If you can dream it, you can do it!
7pm. -M
Misty, take lots of drunker pictures! Thanks for the time, mmm.
If you can dream it, you can do it!
I went to S.A. on my honeymoon. Both of us are fans of good Mexican food, so we did research before we went on the best places in the city for mexican food and ate at them. I never found anything better than what I can get in good ole' OKC.
Yeah I ate at one mexican restaurant on the Riverwalk and it was absolutely horrible. I ate the worst quesadillas. How do you mess up quesadillas?
Take a tortilla... lay it on the cabinet... put cheese and chicken in it.... put a tortilla on top... lay it on the grill..... take it off of the grill.....cut and serve.
If you can dream it, you can do it!
Do you bite your thumb at me?
Los Dos Amigos is good. So are Tarahamara's, Nino's, Chelino's, Ted's, and Poblano Grill for that matter. I can usually get decent Mexican. But not the kind of Mexican that will make me want to learn the fine art of Bulimia so I could eat it three times in one sitting.
The game was unbelievable. Definitely in my top three favorite games that I've attended. We had SOOOOO much fun. The crowd was so into it and the Mizzou fans were really, really nice. This was by far one of the best football trips I've done. My hands hurt from clapping so much, my voice was hoarse from yelling! I cried as we drove through Austin I do love OKC but man oh man I miss Texas! I hope we have more Big 12 games in San Antonio. It was nice to wear shorts instead of hat/gloves/scarf to a Big 12 championship game for once! This was the best weekend I've had all year!
I'm so happy you had a great time Misty!
And I still cry when I'm in CA so I can relate.
But, we're glad to have you back!
