Any Tulsa residents want to weigh in on this comedy:

Have you been up here yet, and if so where have you eaten at?
Also, this may get me shot but both myself (from okc and live in Tulsa) and my great friend (worked in tulsa for 5 years and is now in OKC) both agree that the OKC bbq scene is very mediocre compared to Tulsa. Obviously we love burn co up here, but 1907 and oakhart and the old school Albert G'd are all great. I've yet to go anywhere in okc that I'd want to spend 30 minutes in line for.
When was the last time you ate BBQ in OKC? It's seen a pretty significant shift with Edge Craft and Clark Crew in town and there are a few others around that are putting out a good product compared to 5 years ago.
Any news on the BurnCo location that had the fire? The food is good at the other location but I just loved that building they moved into from their original location.
No trip to Tulsa was complete for me without a stop at BurnCo, Seigi's for schnitzel and to stock up on sausages before they were available in OKC, and if time warranted Nelson's Buffeteria.
The Tulsa hamburger scene is a terrific one. There are lots of small burger places that seem to have been there forever including old drive-ups. The last thing like that in OKC that I can remember was the HY-25 Drive In. There's also a lot of spirited debate of where you can get the best burger in T-Town. I've tried Weber's, Claud's, Brownie's, Ty's, Hank's are just a few but for me (so far) my best burger experience has been "Bill's Jumbo Burger". It's a dive, it's tiny, there's limited seating and it's terrific! Plus, if you've driven on I-244 and looked to the south you've probably seen it, and you've probably assumed that it was abandoned.
Steak Stuffers makes a great philly also Old school with cheese whiz
I always liked the Brook Restaurant and Bar... but my emphasis was typically on the bar. But I think the food was really good 20 years ago and it's still around (with 2 more locations now), so it can't be that bad these days.
Losing Claud's a few years ago was a sad, sad thing.
White River Fish Market
Most of my experience there came at the original Brookside location. This wasn't too long after college, so drinks were probably more important than food. There were other bars and clubs in that area, so... haha! I just took a Google Maps stroll down Brookside and it looks absolutely nothing like I remember, except for the Brook. Weird!
I did eat at the downtown location once while at a conference in the area. Most people I was with were pleased with the Brook. However, I didn't even know the South Tulsa location existed until I looked it up for this site (about 2 miles from where I lived all those years ago).
Tulsa has a wild obsession with coneys, so if you are in town try to grab some. And while coney islander is solid, it's the smaller single location shops scattered across town that are really good.
Is Nelson's Buffeteria still open? Fond memories of the carb bomb chicken fried steak lunch when I worked at the 1st National Building down the street. Lunch at Nelsons and then after work 2 hours at the Tulsa Club playing racquet ball to work it off. LOL
Nelson's, now in it's 96th year, is no longer downtown, they are at 44th and Memorial. But still going strong.
