Thread: El Pollo Loco

    Default El Pollo Loco

It looks like they are coming to the OKC market with five locations around the metro. Their chicken is pretty good. I’m excited about this:

“ El Pollo Loco, Inc., the nation’s leading fire-grilled chicken chain, is eyeing Oklahoma City as part of its next wave of expansion.

Company plans call for opening as many as five restaurants in the metro area over the next few years, with each restaurant occupying approximately 2,400 square feet of real estate and employing as many as 50 people.

The announced expansion is part of a broader growth initiative that expects to see the 480-unit chain open 140 new franchisee-owned restaurants in select DMAs throughout the Western United States by 2026. ”

I absolutely love El Pollo Loco.

They grill their chicken rather than fry it and have great bowls and salsa bars.

With most things you order, they include warm tortillas.

This makes me very happy! That was one of my favorite places in Southern California.

Haven’t had it in a few years. But I remember all their ingredients being so fresh.

It would be nice to know where I'm going to be driving twice a week.

According to the new articles that have copied each other twice you’ll have 5 places to chose from!

Well I'm being optimistic thinking at least one will be close enough to reach a few times a week!

Pete, do you know if this is still on or is it not happening? It’s been awhile since the announcement

Sure hope so but I haven't heard a word about them looking.

I tried a chicken tostada salad from here a few weeks ago in Denton and I gave it a double thumbs up. The chicken was super succulent and the salad was topped with fresh ripe avocado and pico. My boys enjoyed their street tacos and my daughter just completely devoured a few chicken legs. We'd certainly visit one in OKC if it does expand here. It reminded me of a Qdoba style of place, but maybe on steroids and much better all around. They did have beef options on the menu, but we opted to stick to chicken since that is their name sake.

It's all very fresh and the chicken is grilled, so much healthier. They also have a great salsa bar.

It was my favorite fast-food place in California.

I do too. I really hope they push forward with the central Oklahoma locations I know I’d frequent them.

We hit the El Primo Loco at S 35th and Western for office lunch about once a week. The chicken is healthy also and is so good. One of the staff favorite places

El Primo Loco esta el mejor!

Their restaurants aren't always for the feint of heart in looks and location but their food is great and I could hook their salsa verde up to an IV drip.
