Went to Panera on NW Expressway by Baptist and their lobby was closed due to staffing issues. Seems to be the normal more and more these days.....

Haven't eaten at one in decades, but noticed that Grandy's on NW 36th/Lincoln is closed because they didn't pay their taxes.

Oh shame, I used to grab food there. Their cinnamon rolls are divine.

En Croute in Nichols Hills Plaza announced its closure last week.

Bravo Italian by Quail Springs had all their lights on this morning including string lights on the patio and signage. The available sign on the side of the building isn’t there anymore. Is this coming back or something else taking that spot?

My wife said that there was a post in the NextDoor App that stated Zarate's was aiming to reopen by the end of October. I am unable to locate any such news on either their FB or Instagram pages, however I thought I would share this information since this place is a fan favorite.

I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned here yet but Cafe 501 Classen Curve is now permanently closed. They had shuttered the dinner business a little while back so figured this would follow soon thereafter.

I saw a post on Next-door that the Jimmys Egg on 16th May has MW (Midwest Wrecking) initials in the window and a sign stating that any vehicles parked on the property after Monday 12/20 would be towed. Does anyone have more info on this?

They are razing the building and rebuilding on the lot about 20 feet east. Will allow for better use of the overall property and a more efficient Jimmy’s Egg. Original building was in the purgatory of smallish size, old design, and mechanical systems that were worn out plus inefficient.

Hope they get a new staff too, the current one sucks completely, we walked out after waiting 15 minutes for our food, and they were getting ready to bring out one plate, but not the toast or the other person's plate, yet the plates had been sitting next to the grill for a while and they were getting takeout orders ready, all while there were only about 6 other customers inside the restaurant.

Yeah, it's pretty sad the bldg is going, to be replaced by one of their generic designs, all so they can add more $$$$ to what they're already raking in by the truckload.

The building was a dump and had no remarkable architectural characteristics. Was just old, tired, and cheaply built to start with.

If it was that cheaply built to start with, how'd it last so long (60+ years, I believe) and is still functional? And the design is inarguably better than what's going to replace it, doesn't have to be "remarkable" for people to want to save it.

I wasn’t really making a case for the building to be retained - though I think it’s a bit more interesting than Rover does…it has a quirky late mid-century thing going on that I kind of like - I was seeing it as bittersweet due to my own sentimentality. I have good memories in that place.

It’s also the original location for a great American immigrant success story. I mean, there are now Jimmy’s Egg restaurants in states other than Oklahoma.

My guess is literally with wire and duct tape. Last time l was in there, it was so overrun by flies l couldn't finish my meal - and l'm really not squemish.

There was a stir on social media where someone (I assume) affiliated with Leonardo's at NW 178th & Penn, was very upset that one of their nextdoor neighbors was relocating and the landlord was leasing that space to another Mexican restaurant. She was ready to give up and close down. Just two months ago, they were talking about expanding to a larger location and setting up a full bar.

That was almost a week ago, and I haven't heard any more information.

I'm not surprised. We went there one time last year and it was very marginal and the service was not very attentive. I had a nice burger, but the rest of the family didn't really care for their meals. We were shocked at their namesake, their assortment of hand made lemonade, was priced very high for one glass with no refills. I drive by there daily and quite frankly when seeing hardly any cars in the lot there I'm surprised it has stayed open as long as it did. Also, one of their biggest issues I think was knowing if they were even open or not. Their windows face the west and every night at supper time the super dark tint prohibited being able to see in. I realize it's a catch-22 with that west-setting sun, but even after sunset the tint is so dark you can't even see in there at night from the road.
