Katie Couric moving to CBS?

Rumor has it that Katie Couric may be moving to CBS to take on the CBS Evening News, currently hosted by Dan Rather.

Something tells me this isn't gonig to happen....probably wishful thinking on CBS' part. Regardless, it's an interesting topic for discussion.

"NBC tries to douse Couric-CBS rumor

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- NBC Universal Television Group President Jeff Zucker is trying to shoot down rumors that "Today" show co-host Katie Couric is a candidate for the soon-to-be-vacant job as anchor of the "CBS Evening News."

Zucker said he expected Couric to remain at NBC for a long time. Her contract extends for another year and a half, and he said negotiations over an extension have already begun.

Zucker did have a friendly - we think - warning for CBS Chairman Leslie Moonves, who will decide Dan Rather's successor at the evening news.

"We've decided that if CBS goes after Katie Couric, we're going after Julie Chen," he said Friday."

There's an interesting subtext to Zucker's comment. Julie Chen, a host of CBS' morning show, just recently married Leslie Moonves.
