because it is a recommendation not a requirement

Yeah, that's why I said "asked" not "required". And I wasn't commenting on the participation, just passing on information to the OKCTalk community.

It's interesting to envision what that same view in the 3rd and 4th pictures will be when the new project directly East across the railroad tracks is completed in a few years.

I live in Denton and I was in OKC for the marathon this last weekend. I will say, it was pretty jarring to see the lack of mask wearing in general. I would have said that I am just in a college town bubble, but mask wearing is dramatically lower in Norman than Denton too. These are very similar towns.

Anyway, great pictures, Pete. Arena looks good. Can't wait to get to some games this season.

I was just in Los Angeles, and no one was wearing a mask. Anywhere. Even where encouraged. Okc is wearing them more than in LA.

I was around North Dallas the past few weekends. Surprisingly compliant, relative to here.

It's REQUIRED on the streetcar, but check out compliance there. Busses on the other hand compliance is much better.

Ah, and now we have our new name for the arena, the Emerald City.

Hmmmm... that's weird... in Houston and Galveston last week, there wasn't a noticeable difference than the way it is up here. By stark contrast, Brownsville was the most voluntarily compliant community I've been to in a long time. Three-quarters or more were wearing masks in public.

Now that would make the Seattle folks angry once again.

Was in NYC a week ago. High degree of voluntary and required masking. To go to any restaurant you must show vaccine card or recent negative test. All stores, etc, REQUIRE masks, and no one makes a deal of it. High number of maskers in streets and everyone masks for public transportation, including cabs and Uber. Then I come home and.....

I was in Seattle last week for a week. Mask wearing to the max there, unless eating or drinking.

I was in Brownsville yesterday and noticed almost everyone wearing masks. On South Padre Island.......much less

I was in LA fairly recently and everyone was wearing them. I guess we were in different parts of LA.

So when Washington is in town, we can all skip into the arena singing, "We're off to see the Wizards!"

    Oh! Seattle would love that.

Anyway, who else has something to add about Paycom Arena?

Paycom added so much life to the skyline. The green reflections look incredible and can be seen from miles away. I know it is Paycom green but I’m curious to see if they’ll ever light different colors

When looking at the skyline from the south or east, the Devon tower is basically illuminated green from this thing. It is super cool. Gives the non-lit buildings in the skyline a subtle glow.

The "subtle glow" from inside the Myriad Gardens last night

anybody else think maybe it's too bright, giving a rather tacky appearance with all of the light pollution? Or maybe they just need to be aimed better at the roof instead?
    Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
