Idk, I am getting excellent 5G reception on my phone now. In fact, I can use the Bluetooth functions via telepathy now.

No offense, but I'm starting to hear this rhetoric from some of my right-wing acquaintances who believed the doctor who claims to have had sex with demons.

May I ask where you are getting this information that you cite?

It’s actually really simple: i like that the j&j is administered in one dose and it’s not m-rna. The design is much closer to traditional vaccines.

Not surprised, though, that you’d try to make this political.

I only bought 3 Microsoft Surfaces since my first shot... which seems reasonable as I need one for my kitchen, living room, and bedroom....

Joking aside, I understand that people can be wary of the mRNA style of vaccine. TBF, these are new styles of vaccines. As more and more people are vaccinated w/ the mRNA style, it is proving to be super effective and safe. That is why it is important J&J came out w/ a more traditional style. But, new doesn't necessarily mean bad. The mRNA vaccines will be very important moving forward. Change is difficult to accept even if it's for the best. Overtime, these new styles will be accepted as normal in the near future.

Here is an article from January 2018 highlighting the benefits to other virus's before covid.

Saw an article last night saying that native tribes opened up getting a vaccine to anybody. Guess it's my time.

And you're getting the vaccine, which is still the big thing. But, to be clear, there's no good evidence that suggests the Johnson & Johnson vaccine is safer in any way than Moderna and Pfizer. So, the point is, maybe don't convey that online. Even if you're just expressing your personal opinion, it's a form of health misinformation that can harm other people who use your logic to make a decision too.

An opinion you disagree with? Sure.

    Misinformation? Nah.

The fact that it’s almost impossible to get scheduled for the J&J, but very easy to get the others is, in itself, revealing.

That is completely down to the J&J vax being one dose.

Incredibly disingenuous to suggest it's due to verified safety issues.

And I will remind you and everyone else that any misinformation on this very important subject will be deleted and may lead to a permanent ban.

Can you please also apply that rule to a couple of posters in the Politics forum?

Yes, this is health misinformation. "Opinions" that are not backed by evidence and improperly framed are misinformation, by definition. Maybe you want to claim it's not disinformation, meaning you don't have political intention, but it is misinformation. Your type of misinformation can be considered "misleading information" because of the "misleading use of information to frame an issue..." You can see a larger version of the image and read more here. I teach students how to identify misinformation online so I'm not throwing these words about thoughtlessly.

I locked down my appointment for my 2nd Moderna vax for next week.

This was through the OKDH portal. I really like that site because you can readily see all the currently available appointments that are actually open, can refine by the type of dose you need, put in a date range, then click-through and complete your registration.

I'm going to Kingfisher which isn't a bad drive. I probably could have found a site closer if I waited but I'm very glad to have this hard scheduled.

We went to Enid twice for vaccines. When we came back through Kingfisher, we called Eischens (Okarche) and ordered up a chicken..

I've never been to Eischens so I suppose now is the time to finally try it!

It's about 10 minutes from Kingfisher and both times the chicken had just came out. It's excellent.

    And they take cash only.

Just signed up, it's 7 minutes from my house, yay! Very cool that IMMY does both the first and second appts in one fell swoop.

You should! Just be prepared for good chicken but pretty much no atmosphere. Unless you consider small town dumpy bar an atmosphere. But the chicken make up for it.

Yeah, and not on a day when I have tradesmen already coming out, so now I can schedule the HVAC guy and my car window molding replacement, it's all just a house of cards, lol...

It's really great to see so many people here getting registered and sharing their sense of hope and relief.

As much as I was looking forward to that first dose I was still surprised by how good the entire experience made me feel. Just the physical act of seeing so many workers and volunteers in action and so many others getting the vax really made me feel like I was part of a bigger community in ways that have been critically lacking throughout this entire ordeal. Not only due to the lack of public gatherings and socializing but because there has been so much lying and ugliness around Covid-19 that it was fantastic to see the other side of human nature.

Simply put, it helped restore faith in my fellow man.

That was as important as actually getting immunized.
