Thread: Devon Energy Center

I do know the windows have been on site for quite a while and that at one point they were waiting on a consolidation plan that would compress the number of employees on certain floors and leave others completely dark.

But that was months ago and honestly I can't imagine what could possibly be taking this long, especially since BancFirst has demonstrated the ability to replace entire floors of windows without having to displace current tenants.

Larry Nichols has used the same set of Christmas lites around his house for at least 15 years. They are so old school, they look cool again!

Media to intimidated to catch Larry and ask him some unscripted questions?

It's an ongoing embarrassment to the city.

What a BS excuse (the consolidation plan). I've worked at many places that have done that exact same thing in 2-3 months for dozens of employees, if not hundreds (it took maybe 6 months for the larger numbers).

and didn't they just merge with WRX Energy whatever of Tulsa? I'd assume those would come down to fill up the tower. ..

at least the tower still looks good from far away.

Excellent point, HR. 400 jobs will be shifting to Oklahoma City... Devon needs to get this 'Super Skyscraper' back to its original structure.

Here is something sure to delight everyone: the sidewalk in front of Deven Energy Center is closed again.

The super classy chain link fence is still pushed back but they've put up new barricades, signs and caution tape to stop people from walking on the sidewalk just west of the Colcord.

Hard to see in this photo but I noticed it yesterday:

    TWO...YEARS...

Even some of the lower down windows could have been replaced when they had that giant crane in the street over the summer.

Their stock is up over 20% in the last month, maybe they can replace some soon. lol

Wonder why the change? That extra 4 feet of space behind the fence is surely not needed hahaha

Maybe it is a sign they are about to make repairs or the just move the fence yearly to make it look like they are working?

The fence was moved back to open the sidewalk some time ago.

But sometime recently, they blocked off the sidewalk with signs and caution tape.

It's obvious Larry has no regard for the area or the concerns of those who interact around this damaged tower. Apparently the city is so beholden to this guy they are powerless to enforce compliance. Sad.

Alright, they're just playing an elaborate prank at this point, right?

Road closure for Window replacement (supposedly)

Let’s see if anything happens this time beyond a crane moving in and out

    Sounds encouraging.

Took these about an hour ago.

They were in the process of replacing 1 window. But there are at least a dozen more still boarded up and there is no way that crane can reach any of them.

Pathetic. I wrote Hamon and her assistant basically said "Windows are boarded up, it's all to code, we can't do anything about it", which makes sense but still sucks, so there is apparently no way anybody can make them fix their windows.

They are fixing them right now.

All the windows or just the lower ones shown in the photos above?

Exactly, thanks. Until I see *all* of them replaced (via whatever means, and that crane ain't it), it's still pathetic.

Absolutely dying at closing Sheridan to replace one (1) window. You truly cannot make it up.

They really only replaced one window? Did they pack everything up and reopen Sheridan, or is it still closed for potentially more work?
