And the numbers seem to be growing pretty rapidly of people getting it again. Often worse the second time. So until there's a vaccine there's no hope for immunity herd or otherwise.

Just FYI blocking people is weak. I no y'all hate what I post but there are people out there that believe that I'm just coming from a different perspective. You all wonder why cases are still going up. Cause some people will say 311 people in the ICU out of four million is a drop in the bucket and if it hasn't hit them yet they won't care

I’m not a fan of blocking somebody on this forum. This forum is essentially opinion-based and discussion with some science and data sprinkled in. You may be a minority on the board, but you have a right to be heard here. This isn’t a science sub...

Tried going to the pumpkin patch at the Myriad Gardens. The patch itself is limited access and nicely spaced out. But the line is 300 people deep without masks and zero social distancing.

There are so many things that I'd like to go do but I see way too many people not being careful at all. I've become a hermit and will remain so until this is over.
A not so funny memory. At the beginning in mid-March I was still stopping for a beer on the way home from work pretty much every day. I decided that when Oklahoma hit 1000 confirmed cases I'd get worried and stay home. That didn't take long. Little did I know I already had it anyway.

If you can, try and go in the middle of the day in the middle of the week. It’s quite a bit slower out there at those times.

The Affair of the Hearts is gonna blow the Trump rally out of the water as a super spreader event.

Based just on the numbers of cars I saw yesterday, yes definitely. I really think covid fatigue and many people just being "over it" is a thing. And that plus the holiday season coming up is not going to be anything but a disaster.

I would like some advice on something I am on the fence about. My family attends a small church that meets in a small retail store front. There are around 30 adults and children in our church and not everyone wears a mask or wears it properly. We meet only once a week now due to Covid for about 2 to 2 and a half hrs. We are all in the same room as I said our church is small and the AC is on. We have recently began singing 1 worship song during service and people remove there masks during that time. We have had 1 members husband who he does not attend service currently but he tested positive a few weeks ago for Covid and we have another family who was around family that tested positive also. All the kids at our church are homeschooled and of the adults there is 1 man who works in IT at OU medical ctr complex and another couple the husband works at Boeing and his wife works at a day care and we have 2 guys who are Fed Ex delivery drivers everyone else is at home. I am on the fence about my family stopping going to service until the Covid virus is better under control. What are you guys thoughts with this with what I have described above. Would you keep going or stop for a while till things start heading downward with the virus stats?

Bill it seems like you lived a pretty cool life before the virus. I am rooting for you after this virus is over. Your posts are depressing.

Our 7-day rolling average is 1,312, a record high by a fair margin just as we head into cold and flu season.

Remember when 500 cases/day was a huge deal??

This is all very predictable: first come cases, then a week later hospitalizations and another week after that, more deaths. And we are already at or near record highs across the board.

History is going to be very unkind to our 'leaders' who have done next to nothing throughout this mess.

I don't mean to be depressing but this virus is just that. Actually on the bright side staying home all the time has let us pay off everything but the house. Oh yeah, I've also lost 10 pounds and my black pressure is averaging lower than it has in years.

My best answer to this is that we LOVE our church and it brought me closer to my sister who is 14 years older than I am when she moved back to OKC and started going with us. All this considered we haven't been in person since March and aren't going back any time soon.

U.S. set a record yesterday with 83,000 cases, 6,000 more than the previous high in July.

We only had 32,000 cases on Labor Day.

Being indoors with people outside your bubble for extended periods of time is how COVID spreads. I would not do it, but I’ve barely been inside any place with other people since March.

My wife and I never missed a service and Wednesday night church for many years. We have not been to in person church since March. There is just no way to do it safely for us and our child. I couldn’t sleep at night knowing if I infected an older member at church.

We still watch online every Sunday and do small group on zoom. Do I miss the in person? Absolutely. I just don’t feel comfortable doing it until at least a vaccine. I know a lot of older folks that the only interaction they get is church and that hurts me.

Speaking of depressing, I just perused the comments section on KFOR’s post about the case numbers today. Isn’t hard to see why we’re in this situation when you see how many Okies respond to this kind of news...

Hard decision. The church I attend is as small as yours and has not yet gone back to in person, we Zoom. We did not have our 20th Anniversary celebration this year, and our annual meeting will be online. Some members have met outside of church, in a park or backyard setting where they could social distance outside, but now that the weather is turning it could be more challenging. That gave a few the opportunity to see each other and have some personal interaction.

If it makes you feel any better, it's largely the same in CO as far as news station comment sections go. I think it is their only outlet.

I'm sorry to say, but it is not safe. You are gambling with your family's health if you continue to attend in person. The environment you describe is one of the most common environments for community spread.

This is not a slam on religious people, but dang how fragile is your faith.

All these outbreaks at church's, we've known about this for the last 9 months and people are hell bent on going still.

I get it fells good to pray and sing songs in person but you can do that from home.

We are a small church as well, and we have been able to use this situation to develop a system to life stream our services (which are held with maybe 10 people total in attendance who are basically just there to assist with the service itself).

We already had a public health epidemic of isolation in our elderly population. Americans are not traditionally living in multigenerational housing. We have closed senior centers, shut nursing homes off from visitation, asked families not to physically hug the elderly. It's not safe to go to church in person at the present time, and for many seniors that is their last lifeline.
Please check on your elderly neighbors and acquaintances by any safe means (telephone, Skype, post it note on their door). They are suffering, and dying, in silence.

1,051 new cases today; a record for a Sunday.

1,348 7-day rolling average is another new record high.

    4 additional reported deaths.
