Where is the balance though between locking thing up but yet keeping thing moving. Getting people in casinos getting people out to eat. I think right now we are doing it wrong just based off of cases and test. There have been 12 studies recently posted questioning the PCR test and how sensitive they are and how they are picking up too much of the virus in people. Of the 1,000 people today how many are shredding the virus?

P.S i'm out for the night it's been fun y'all stay safe

And to think this wasn’t supposed to be a “political thread.” I’m astonished as to how divided we have become that the CDC is considered by some to “have an agenda.” This whole situation is sad, but throw in the mainstreaming of the random guy on the Internet spouting silly conspiracy theories, and it’s gone from sad to maddeningly pathetic.

Compared to higher population density states Oklahoma is is flatter. I'm only giving brownie points to California since they are actually keeping on track with Oklahoma regardless of their size. These other states had huge outbreaks compared to what occurred in Oklahoma. Their past failure is now their "success". I was going to include New York but they blow up the graph.

I said flattening the curve due to population density, didn't mean to imply we had anything to do with it.

To kukblue1's credit there is a growing disconnect between cases and deaths in Europe. Their growth in cases restarted about 80 days ago. Our first wave hasn't finished yet though out pandemic is still very much real.

I'll agree with other that the USA isn't there just yet but we have different Climates. If you watched the video I posted it makes sense why we still have deaths. The south and the midwest are in the "hump" which is causing our deaths to be higher. We all had the curve and then the downward trend at the start. However USA had that second hump if you will that was cause of states like Texas, Arizona, California. It's going to be intresting to see what happens in the next couple months. With the colder weather coming we are going to see more cases but are we going to see more deaths? I think we are heading towards the casedmic.

Does anyone have numbers for just Oklahoma Metro. Total cases vs total deaths?

this is not a factual statement

Is the combo of Labor Day and schools starting to hit Oklahoma a County?

It’s still a smaller number, but the percentage of cases who are <18 is growing as well.

BTW, despite the "OKC is doing sooo great" rhetoric, today's numbers reveal that OK County had more than 25% percent of the cases in the state while only having 20% of the population.

25% of new cases are in OK county, or 25% of active cases are in OK county?

It's interesting to note that Oklahoma has had almost as many cases per capita as California, and we are rapidly closing what once was a huge gap.

We should pass them very soon.

What happened today? WaPo covid tracker listing over 3,400 deaths so far today. Did some state(s) change their reporting?

  18. Default Re: Covid-19 in OKC (coronavirus)

It turns out NY reported over 2,700 deaths today. Haven't heard why yet.

Here, only 9 deaths are shown for NY (which happens to be the number Oklahoma reported as well):

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m really getting burnt out in regards to this pandemic. I look forward to the day with relish where we can watch a sporting event without a reminder of covid, go to a restaurant, or take my son to the toy store.

I’m 100% with you! I posted a page or two ago that it hurts to not go somewhere loud and crazy to watch OU football. Or go out and see our friends at our favorite restaurants. But even more serious than that I haven’t seen my mom since March. They finally allow one family member, not one at a time, just one period, to see her for 15 minutes a week outside in the courtyard. We chose my oldest sister because they were always closest. My sister says mom is slipping which she was already so I expected as much. I’m thinking it’s likely I won’t see mom alive again. My first grandson is a year and a half old and my first granddaughter is one month. I’m scared to be around them, and haven’t been, because I’m working, doing the shopping and whatever being out we have to do so if it could be brought into the family it would be me that brought it. Not risking it. I can’t wait for this crap to be done so I can treat the people and things I love like I love them. And I hate, HATE, seeing so many just not taking it seriously or worse not caring about anyone but their self righteous selves and not trying to help end this virus.

I hear this. I have a grandmother in Washington state who has gone 6 months without seeing a visitor. Day in and day out of waking up, walking to the living room to watch TV then walking back to bed. It breaks my heart, and this all has to continue for who knows how long because folks are acting like there’s no pandemic.
