https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.kvu...f-1a80f2184246AUSTIN, Texas — Despite President Donald Trump last week ordering a ban on dealings with the Chinese owners of the popular social media apps WeChat and TikTok, the latter says it is still planning on bringing hundreds of jobs to the Austin area.
"We're proud to build our presence in Austin and be a part of the thriving business and tech community locally," said Blake Chandlee, VP of global business solutions for TikTok, an Austin resident. "The Austin community embodies the same creative and entrepreneurial spirit that defines the TikTok community, and we are going to do all we can to ensure our company's future in Texas and the U.S. Our goal is to be here for years to come for our users, our creators and for the 1,500 people we currently employ in America, the 10,000 people we intend to hire here, including the hundreds of new jobs we're bringing to Austin."

Some great news out of Austin! They just voted in favor of the mass transit expansion. I really hope OKC follows suit soon.
“ Austin voters overwhelmingly approved two transportation-related ballot measures on election night, investments that promise a lasting transformation of the region’s infrastructure.
Proposition A, which would raise property taxes in the City of Austin to help pay for the Project Connect transit improvement plan, had close to 60% of the vote as of about 11:30 p.m.
The expansion includes two new light rail lines, a new commuter rail line and a new bus rapid transit line that would run in its own right-of-way so it doesn’t mix with traffic. A new downtown transit tunnel would also be built. The plan includes three new MetroRapid limited stop bus routes, as well as more park-and-rides and neighborhood connectors.
The plan also includes $300 million in investments to prevent people from being forced out of their homes and neighborhoods by potential development sparked by new transit stops. ”

74 St. Supertall planned for Austin
https://austin.towers.net/downtown-a...er-creek-site/
The official height will be 1,021ft making it the tallest tower in the State of Texas as well as making it our 2nd 1,000 footer.
I'm so happy that both prop A & B passed!
This is what we have foward looking to.
What an impressive thing to pull off right now considering the stigma with public transportation given the ongoing pandemic.
That super tall is a knockout. Austin is just killing it in every category.
Same picture and photoshopped once Block 185 & 6 X Guadalupe gets completed.

The rich get richer..........
If Oklahoma’s education system wasn’t so bad maybe we could get just one of the moves Texas is getting.
That would require being able to raise some additional tax revenue. Property taxes are dirt low in OK, and the system should be realistic on what it takes to raise them.
