    853 new cases today.

    10 more reported deaths.

This is totally appalling. Stitt didn’t think this info would get out? And this was all telegraphed when he denied reporters access to Birx and refused to allow the Tulsa City County Health official to attend the meeting.

He just wants schools to open regardless of the circumstances.

Don't think OK has the mechanism for that, wish we did, though, I'd be out gathering signatures 25 hours a day.

Enid City Council by a large margin voted last month not to have a required mask mandate. So what happened? Enid became a hot spot and has gone ahead of Lawton in positive numbers. Enid is now not far behind Stillwater. That will be quite a victory for required masks if Enid gets ahead of Stillwater. Two smaller cities than Stillwater and Lawton without mandatory mask mandates, Yukon and Claremore, are already out in front of both of them.

Political wise, I could have understood it a bit better what Stitt didn't want to do had the recommendations come from a Democrat administration.

If we want counties still at double digit numbers for positive cases to stay that way, required masking would help ensure they stay that way. There's not very many counties left enjoying double digit numbers.

Looks like someone wanted to lay the way back in 1994. . . see para E

I believe he is liable for impeachment, but don't think that is likely. . .

    Yes, unfortunately you are correct.

This should never have been political.

For what it's worth, a friend of mine said they drove through both the Paseo and the Plaza last night and saw they saw lots of young people hanging out inside bars with no masks on.

The new report from the White House coronavirus task force, which counts Vice President Mike Pence as its chair and Dr. Deborah Birx as its coordinator, is dated Sunday, Aug. 16th, the same day as Birx’s visit with Gov. Kevin Stitt in Tulsa. Following that meeting, Stitt said “there wasn’t really any recommendations that she made in this meeting,” and said specifically that she had not recommended a statewide mask mandate nor a statewide bar closure.

“Mask mandate needs to be implemented statewide to decrease community transmission,” the leaked report reads, in a section on the first page labeled RECOMMENDATIONS. “Bars must be closed, and indoor dining must be restricted in yellow and red zone counties and metro areas.”
I've been trying to wrap my head around this. Has Stitt really just been straight up lying about the mask mandate not being recommended by the White House task force?

Looks like that Mick was pretty damn prescient with that Bull Stitt ad. In hindsight we really shouldn't have elected a man governor who was banned from doing business in entire states.

We could have had Drew Edmondson. He would have been at least as good as Cornett. Drew would have been a magnificent governor.

This has been a very good thread to follow for daily updates and opinions on what they mean. OK, Stitt has been proven to be a lying a-hole. But can we keep this from getting completely political?

If it is true that the official way we count was modified that would be a bad deal. Especially if we are now starting to reach our old numbers with the new methodology.

I just read a post on Oklahoma Source about this. If so the numbers are really artificially dropping. But we know the actual untested cases are many times the reported numbers anyway so I just go about my business assuming everything I see has it.

Here's a YouTube video version for those who don't have FB. This is very disturbing, to say the least.

Thanks for the video. I'd much rather hear viewpoints on the virus issue from actual doctors, rather than politicians.

If state health sites aren't giving rapid tests, then that surely means no rapid positive tests are being counted.

I don't care if he's 100% correct. I won't listen to a thing this quack says. He's been promoting zinc and hydroxychloroquine for covid, pushing that demon blood crap video, claiming the data has been manipulated (in various directions), trashed Fauci non-stop, and a bunch of other dangerous stuff... here's a facebook post of his from a couple of weeks ago..

    Humans....

1400 cases in OK today. Testing is a mess with false positives, false negatives and massive delays in test results. Be that as it may... hospitalizations are up. The system is getting overwhelmed.

    Great video from Dr. Stella.

    Watch it and decide.

For those of you who continue to believe mainstream media reports, lame excuses from Drs. Fauci and Birx and platitudes from Dr. Redfield please delete me.

My favorite comment critiquing the data lately was about Dr. Birx’s comment concerning children 10 and under. Too paraphrase Dr. B....

“We don’t really know about them as they have had the fewest tests!... they could be spreaders”

Let’s think... unlike our public health officials.

    Why so few tests?

    Wait for it....

Virtually no children are presenting with COVID sx so i.e., no reason to test them.

    Duh.

The data everywhere is indicative of their baseline immunity and non-infectious potential when infected.

Let’s ignore all the data and state non-validated emotional responses to twitterpate the public. Exactly the opposite of the purpose of the CDC.

    Be at peace!

I’m doing a teacher Q&A tomorrow night. If I get the ok I’ll post it on my page.

Politics are everywhere which destroys science.

If he has actually been treating covid patients with zinc and hydroxychloroquine and has no patient deaths, I am certainly not going to fault him, especially since I'm no expert in the medical field. On the other hand, if he has no experience in treating COVID patients, then he is not in a great position to be talking about any type of treatment.

They made it sound like they stopped counting non-health department tests period, which would have been new. If it’s the same “don’t count rapid tests” that has been happening from day 1 it would be nothing new.

    Quack doctors are stupid.
