Eat in your car, Find a shade tree, take it back to work. Doesn't even have to be wearing a mask just little things like this would help.
It is not something that I agree with, but I seen more people relax after the George Floyd protests. When people heard government officials say it was okay to protest and yell chants, they took it to mean that ordering food at Braums without a mask is acceptable. I don't agree, but it is an opinion I have heard.

In the end it is about free people making free choices. If a business requires a mask then a person has a choice if he wants to do transact with that business. The Walmart ban will be an interesting story to watch.

No, in the end this is a collective action problem where we all have to make the same choice to produce the best outcome. Shrugging your shoulders and saying "well it's a free country" profoundly misstates the issue and displays a lack of understanding about what rights we actually have. Freedom isn't absolute, especially when it comes to a public health emergency.

I think Stitt recognizes that the Walmart Decision gives him the cover—politically speaking—to move for mandatory masks in all private and public buildings.

The collectivist approach may be the right answer to this problem, but I still hold the belief that is the wrong solution overall because of the enforcement costs. Let's not have this debate in this thread.

Not the government's role. This is a good slide show on the governor's presentation.

Holt calling a special city council meeting on Friday at 1PM to vote on mandatory maks requirement for all indoor spaces in OKC.

Stonecipher is sponsoring the ordinance, which is a very good indication they have the necessary votes.

Details which probably tell us the mandate will pass with no problems, thread starting here: https://twitter.com/davidfholt/statu...23222659198979

Councilman Mark Stonecipher is introducing an ordinance to require masks be worn in indoor public places (with common sense exceptions).
I wonder what the "common sense exceptions" will be.

    Holt tweet:

Of the top 50 largest American cities, 46 have a requirement to wear masks in indoor public places.

(The four exceptions are Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Colorado Springs and Omaha.)

Yes, this x1000! Is it up to personal responsibility to decide to stop at stop signs or stoplights? Obey *any* traffic laws? Allowable to blow cigarette smoke in anybody's face anywhere? Drive drunk? Ad nauseum.... We're all *supposed* to be in this together as a society, but massive numbers of ill-informed and uneducated idiots are not making that possible.

I appreciated the numbers they mentioned about total hospital beds - about 5k beds total in the state with a 1k surge capacity. Good thing to keep in mind as we see the rise in hospitalizations.

About ****ing time!!!!!! Surprised it's Stonecipher sponsoring it, though. Really, really sad it came to Stittiot having it to get some movement on what should've been done weeks, if not months ago, but not surprised about that.

Does that jibe with what Edmond Hausfrau is saying and the numbers that show there are some hospitals with no beds available? And their estimate of something along the lines of 7000 positives for 2 weeks in a row (paraphrasing, not sure if exact, but close, I think) is what would be needed to overwhelm the hospitals seems way too large.

Lance Fry mentioned we need 7200 cases per day for two weeks until we hit capacity.

I believe Frye said 1,075 new cases today, although that number hasn't been officially released yet through the health department.

At current hospitalization rates, which are not a constant.
