Braum's hasn't cared about anything customer-service-related for a long time, hairy arms dipping into foot-deep ice cream containers, the nasty floors and tables, getting orders wrong, cutting down portions, not staffing properly, etc. But Okies still go there in droves.

I work in retail. A member of staff tested positive and they gave us a choice. Either work or get tested on our dime. So what choice do people like this have? Business doesn't care about your wellbeing. They care about money.
I wonder if your employer received bailout $$$. Infuriating.

Actually I would expect a Seattle based company like Starbucks to have a company wide mask rule long before an Oklahoma based company. Sounds much more like a Seattle thing than an Oklahoma thing. The southern states are much more “don’t mess with my rights” than Seattle will ever be.

All time record now: 487 currently hospitalized.

Why is Stitt claiming we have 5,000 hospital beds? Did I miss something? The Health Department Executive Order report always shows about 1,000 beds right?

I drove down Meridian on the way home from work as usual. So many hot rods for this weekend’s Nationals. Normally I’d have been stopping, checking out cars and talking to the owners. Some Nationals Thursday’s I don’t get home from work until 9 or 10. All I could think of today was “Really. You’re doing this in a pandemic?.

They are accurate as far as positives being positive is concerned.

High rate of false negatives, but no real worry about false positives.

I admit when i moved here in 2012 other then milk I didn't see what the big deal was about them. I don't think their ice cream is all that great either. Burgers are just ok not even in the top 5 for fast food. Shakes are too hit or miss you can get a good one or get one that is like flavored milk. Fries are decent and take it from someone that worked there service at night sucks. Lunch it's ok but the store I worked at average drive time at night was over 6 minutes. If I'm waiting over 6 minutes for food my burger better be made fresh but with all the shakes at night it was impossible at times to give fast service. Their system is kind of flawed.

But as far as Covid they done nothing. No sneeze guards at registrars, no blocking off tables, no mask in grocery.

NEW: COVID hospitalizations in Oklahoma have increased to 487, the highest level since April 2.

Everything is fine just re-watch Stitt Press conference. Nothing to worry about. Wash your hands wear a mask.

Speaking of Braum’s, is anything happening with the Hi-Lo / Drunken Fry property?

Still looks like a total dump. Surely that’s not highest and best use?

Anybody bet have unknown pneumonia deadlier than coronavirus for the next 2020 disaster? At least there aren't murder hornets carrying it around...

But he just couldn’t impose on Oklahoma freedoms and actually wear a mask. Too bad one of the reporters didn’t ask about seat belts or non smoking laws.

I went into Braums in Edmond today to grab a few items. The workers in the food/ice cream area did not wear masks. The one in the grocery area did. I set the items down at the register and back away for social distancing. She gave me the total and then stepped back from the register as I swiped my card and picked up my items. She was wearing a mask and social distancing. Folks this can be done. Its not hard.

Also out today, maybe masks is a better heading. The Archdiocese of Okc will now require masks of all at church functions and in the offices starting on the 11th. Not sure if anyone else saw the letter. i don't know how to link it. Sorry, not much of a tech head, just an old head.

You really need to stay home. I’m worried you’re to at risk. Mowing and taking care acreage is not worth sacrificing your life. Stay home

I do stay home most of the time. I forgot a few items when out shopping so I stopped in. I did not see any other customers in the store. Yep, mowing and taking care of acreage that is me. Rather the peace and quiet of the country then dealing with all the people in town. Not all of us are city folks.

oklip955,... You enjoy that country living. For 10 years we lived on an acreage out your way, off Hiwassee and 164th, until serious issues with a neighbor forced us to make the decision to move. You don’t have to be cooped up in the house out there.

The U.S. set another record for new cases yesterday, over 60,000.

    Texas alone had over 11,000.

I don't think so. I see a lot of people waiting on the government so be their savior through this. While it would be nice to see some leadership, we can't rely on it. The public needs to come together to help beat this thing. That's not being too idealistic.

This is making the rounds on social media; there is now a full-on anti-masker movement with lots of people also saying they won't take the vaccine:

For all who are defending wearing the mask. Let me say also that I have complied with this myself for 3 months. I shut my company down, I sent employees home, I locked my family up in the house but the truth has far from been told to the American people. This has been a successful exercise in control and power over a populace and we fell right in line like scared puppies but no more.

When you say - “It’s just a mask.” "Just wear it, it's only a mask. Do what your told and shut up"

.....”It's just a mask" can turn into "it's just a vaccine" very quickly. And it will, you can bet your bottom dollar on that!
In less than 5 months, our government has successfully divided the country into "obedient mask wearers" versus "selfish people that refuse to wear masks.”

"It's just a mask, you guys.” It's for "the greater good!”

Where have we heard this phrase before?

In less than 5 months, our government has dictated what events are acceptable versus unacceptable to attend. Riots are OK, but church and family funerals are not. Standing in a graduation line is a "safety hazard,” but feel free to line up at WalMart, Lowes, and Home Depot.
    .
But it's "just a mask" & "safety precautions,” you guys.

In less than 5 months, our government successfully facilitated the closing of family-owned businesses while granting authority to large corporations that they have invested interests in.

It's "just a mask" and "safety precautions" you guys. Oh & here's a measly $1200 that we stole from you in the first place. Enjoy!

In less than 5 months, our government was able to successfully sway the population into believing that a CASHLESS SOCIETY is a good thing! In the name of a government sponsored virus.

In less than 5 months, our government closed down public schools, and has "restructured" school moving forward under the guise of "public safety" from a "virus.” These same schools fed children crap per the corrupt USDA food pyramid. But "health" matters when it comes to a government sponsored virus
It's "just a mask" & "heightened safety precautions,” you guys.

In less than 5 months, our government demonstrated how easily people assimilate to "guidelines" (that have NO scientific premise whatsoever) when they are fearful.

What was up with all that toilet paper?

It's "just a mask" & "6 foot social distancing,” you guys. Oh, and dooky paper.

In less than 5 months, our government has successfully instilled fear in a majority of the population in America.
But citizens are not "afraid" of the people in power who are responsible for the removal of their "freedoms.” Instead, they're fearful of their neighbors and family, human touch, and air. Government created division.
There are thousands of viruses that *could* affect the population, but these viruses do not matter because MSM didn't say they do.

It's absolutely terrifying to me that so many people do not question authority because they see that authority as "all knowing." It's even more terrifying that these same people rely on corrupt "leaders" to be led, thus lacking all critical thinking skills/independence.

Slaves to the system that keeps them oppressed.

How quickly history is forgotten and repeated!

What's most problematic to me about all of this is that the people who are wearing masks "for the greater good" will be the first to sign up for this shiny new vaccine that's had 0 longitudinal safety tests against an inert placebo.
What's more problematic to me is that this Vaccine MAY be the deciding factor in life moving forward.
You thought a mask was inconvenient? Wait until you're told that you cannot enter a store without proof of the Covid-19 vaccine. Wait until you cannot go to public events, or travel, without proof of having received this vaccine.
To everyone that doesn't believe this is possible - do you understand that our government just successfully dictated to people WHEN they were allowed to be outside, where they were allowed to go, and how their children would be educated, in less than 5 months? And that a majority of the population followed blindly because they were told to do so.

You're kidding yourself if you believe that they're not going to repeat this behavior with a vaccine.
If people have not protested the occurrences in America over the last 5 months, they will assuredly continue to abide by unsubstantiated "guidelines" that will include a vaccine.

It’s not about a mask, it’s about CONTROL.
