We're also now on the mandatory 2 week quarantine for travel to NY, which is definitely a factor for business travelers.

    From https://twitter.com/KassieMcClung:

Where the new cases came from (by county):
    Tulsa: +261
    Oklahoma: +212
    Texas: +50
    Caddo: +40
    Payne: +21
    Canadian: +27

The Oklahoman said +125 new hospitalizations! This is spreading like wildfire now. There will be a lot more deaths and we only have about 20-some percent of ICU beds available. I imagine the number of hospitalizations will continue to climb. It has risen 200% in the last three weeks.

FYI, RCB banks in OKC are not masking in their facilities and still meeting with people. Tellers not masking either. Not wiping down pens etc between users.

Let’s help each other out by sharing which businesses are doing a good job of protecting their customers and let’s give them our business while avoiding those that disregard their customers’ safety.

With a pretty much known positivity rate and pretty much known number of tests conducted over the past couple days today’s number, and high numbers for the foreseeable future, have to be expected. And the three cities that had council meetings last night had to know this and did nothing. I really don’t think we’ll ever see a shut down. I’m skeptical we’ll ever see mask mandates.

Thanks for this. Pete, can we start a new thread about which businesses are doing well and which ones are not when it comes to COVID-19 protocols? I believe such a thread would be widely read and may force action since the mayor is unwilling to do so.

Isn't there already a thread for that?

OU-Texas is going to feel a little weird now. Of course, I've been skeptical that they'd be able to even have football as things have been going lately anyway.

I think at this point, best case is college football in the spring.

The Oklahoma City Masked and Unmasked FB group does this.

For comparison, the entirety of New York state (with 4.9X as many people as Oklahoma), previously the epicenter of the outbreak, only reported 588 cases today.

What is going to take for our leaders to make even the most basic action (e.g., mandatory masks)??

Does anyone know if the rapid test results are reported?

They’re too damn stupid and entrenched in their political idiocy to do what’s right.

Sadly, probably for one of them or their loved ones to die.

I’m as big a baseball, Thunder an of course my beloved OU Sooners fan as anyone can be. And I can’t believe I’m typing this but at this point there are higher priorities than sports. Damn that hurt!

I just get the sense that there are a lot of people who are not super concerned about getting it because either they're young and healthy so they think we'll be OK or they think it'll be just like getting an icky cold. Anyone who has been reading articles about this thing know that that's just not true.

But one of the oddities of this virus, as serious as it is, is that statistically that’s not likely to happen.

If you live in OKC, email or call your councilmember and tell them to institute a mandatory mask policy. They need to feel pressure from the pro-mask people because you can be sure they will be hearing from the rabid nutcases on the other side. There's a special meeting of the Council on the 16th to address Covid-19. They need to hear from you.

    Someone posted this (paraphrasing):

Like racism, Covid-19 doesn't exist unless it happens to you.

That seems to be very much the case for far too many.

No, they are not included, according to the director of the Save Our State page last night.

NY seems to have it under control. They also have a social distancing mandate with fines if not obeyed. Also mask wearing is mandated. But we’re told here that those mandates can’t be made to work.

And if we stay on the list until September means no OU trip to Army

Since you bring up NY, i am glad Oklahoma didnt mimic every mandate that Cuomo made. If Oklahoma did we would already have many more deaths.
