Really, all you need is the last four words of this post and some humility. You’ve been defensive and dismissive yet have offered no real proof of your claims or dismissal of masks. It’s not a matter of “just stay home if you’re scared,” it’s a collective action problem that we all need to work together on to mitigate the risk. If you can’t understand the difference between indoor and outdoor settings, or between thermal detection of breath and actual viral load, maybe do some research (i posited some articles you can get started on) and educate yourself a bit.

As Ed Shadid said in another thread, the virus is 1 micron small, but carried on droplets bigger than that (3 microns and larger, maybe). Read up more on it.

It's not just about you or fear of any sort, it's about EVERYBODY, that's why it's called PUBLIC HEALTH.

Meanwhile I’ll keep wondering why mass gatherings for protests(tens of thousands packed) recently were perfectly fine and aren’t being a suspect to the rising COVID cases and you can pretend it’s people like me who walk into a grocery store without a mask around less then 50 people.
I had to respond to the rest. We're not full of sh!t, go read all the articles, masks make a difference, and you're basically a science denier to say they don't at this point.

As far as the protests, there have actually been reports and studies done that show being outdoors and mostly masked helped the virus spread less than it does indoors and without masks (yes, it did spread at protests, but just far less). Go read about that too, easily findable.

I have no doubt that N95 type masks would work but no way it becomes reasonable to require everyone to wear them. Yes I’ve seen the articles claiming anything over your face works. Stay home if you’re that scared. Am I worried about the virus? Hell yes. I’ve seen videos of people on respirators and that looks scary but I won’t live my life in fear.

No offense, but are you from Moore? The reason I ask is that you totally remind me of some uneducated know-it-alls that I know from there.

I don't want to live my life in fear that would come from not going into stores without wearing a mask. Society's failure to get the virus under control will mean a lot more stores closed. Some bars and restaurants and other businesses have already reclosed. They're not waiting to be told by the city or state. A bunch of other countries that had it bad several months ago now have their cases greatly down. It probably had a lot to do with mandatory mask wear.

Yeah, I’m your anonymous, uneducated know-it-all friend from Moore. You got me.

Lol. Try at least to make cogent arguments based on facts, and not bizarre, sophistic rhetorical positions. It is not a good look during a historic pandemic.

For a second I thought you two were friends on Facebook without realizing it and I had a good laugh but checked and I was incorrect...laugh rescinded. Random thoughts at 2:45 AM. Y’all have a good night.

Yeah really. For someone telling everyone to just "Google it" this sort of information is quite readily accessible ..

On the 6/25 EOR there were 19k pending test results. On the 6/26 there were 6k reported and 6k pending. I think the 19k was a typo?

Yes, it was a data-entry error that has been corrected.

Why do people think they have to abstain from wearing a mask to show they don’t live in fear? Heck, I don’t live in fear of someone breaking into my house and kill me, but I do lock my door and turn on my alarm. Just makes sense. Not wearing a mask shouldn’t be fueled by testosterone, but by brain cells.

Commonsense is a rare commodity some days....

Because people have fragile egos and are very concerned with their appearance and what it portrays, even to everyday strangers who they will never interact with again.

True. I admit I felt a little self conscious the first couple times I ventured out in a mask. Then I quit caring what anyone might think. Now I see it as making a statement of I’m going to do what I want and if you have a problem it’s your problem. Also as a humble badge of honor that I care about people.

It’s odd, as someone who appreciates science, for the first time, to part ways with many who claim to be for science acting like sheep and being told I am a science denier because I think the mask thing is complete and utter BS when so little is known about this virus. Then when I’m skeptical about the vaccine those like poliguy have no argument to make other than the “oh you’re a bill gates conspiracy theorists” because they have nothing else to say. It’s cute.
You don't have to believe virologists, just look at the countries with high mask usage. It's working. You are right to a degree that this is a moving target; we continue to learn new things with this unfolding event. One thing that is a known and provable fact is that if both parties are wearing face coverings, there is almost zero chance of transmission. If only one party wears one, the risk of transmission goes up by orders of magnitude. If neither party is wearing a mask they will probably get what they deserve.

I don't think you're a conspiracy theorist. I just think you are strangely argumentative about things you don't know much about, bordering on trolling.

Here's an underappreciated shocker in today's results: Between Thursday and Friday, some 15,000 new test results, combined with 299 cases, drops our positive testing rate to 3%.

How many of the tests were multiple tests to same individual? When and where were the tests administered?

I'm just going by the numbers OSDH releases every day. The raw numbers show a 3% positive rate. That's all I can tell you.

Wait so we have had over 100 Hospitalizations now in 2 days? Our Governor needs to wake up. I get it they hospitals are not currently being overran but why wait until they are before we decided to do something.

If wearing a mask makes us scared, then carrying a gun must make me terrified of everything...
