This is very anecdotal, but still pretty incredible. Can you even imagine 100% of Oklahomans or Texans wearing a mask to their gorcery store over an hour period like they counted in Massachusetts? If you don't want to watch it, every other grocery store from other states had 63%+ with some at or near 100%. The OKC Winco had 35% wearing masks. That's pretty damning.

On the Rt site someone linked on here a few weeks ago there were as little as 9 states above 1 a couple of weeks ago. Today there are 33.

I just got back from Sam's club mwc. (it was them or Moore for another 7 cu ft cheap Chinese freezer) I could not get or figure out the Sam's club buy on line ap. I called them last night to hold a freezer for me. Anyway, they were nice as far as taking care of checkout for me so I could just go back to my truck and wait for a guy to bring it out and load it. I did look around the short time I was in the store and no one was social distancing but all the employees and everyone I did see had a mask on. I think this at least is a step up. This was just past 9am so before regular hours but lots more people then I expected. I normally shop the Edmond Sam's club.

Yep. Happened to just check it myself. Oklahoma happens to be third to worst. Not great.

I've not been checking the number of cases in MWC but see that it is listed as 31 vs 406 for Edmond, Not that big of spread on population vs number of cases. 31 total with "24 Recovered" per Ok st. Dept of Health. Maybe more people ARE wearing masks in MWC compared to Edmond. Just a thought.

Here are the new hospitalization numbers for the last several days; 57 is by far the biggest total to date:

    6/26: 57
    6/25: 17
    6/24: 31
    6/23: 20
    6/22: 39

    Press release:

“The impact of the State Fair’s cancellation will be felt far beyond the loss of our annual celebration,” stated Timothy J. O’Toole, President & CEO of Oklahoma State Fair, Inc. “We are tremendously saddened for the businesses, large and small, that rely on the income and exposure that the State Fair brings them each year. We are also heartbroken for our staff, who have worked so diligently on planning for this year’s Fair; the competitors and exhibitors, who take part in our various creative arts, horse and livestock events; and of course, the general Fairgoers who look forward to attending the Fair each year.”

“We look forward to brighter, better days ahead when we can gather again to celebrate all that is exceptional about Oklahoma City and the State of Oklahoma,” O’Toole said. “Until then, stay safe, be well and support each other. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Oklahoma State Fair in 2021,” O'Toole said in a news release.

    That sucks but completely unsurprising.

Just read on Nextdoor that there are quite a few people at the Hobby Lobby distribution center out, and there's maybe 2% wearing masks, and Hobby Lobby isn't doing much to combat it. Take it with a grain of salt, as it's Nextdoor, but this person has tried contacting OSDH, and a few other gov't organizations, and has now sent emails to news stations and Kendra Horn's office, so they're probably pretty convinced it's bad if they've done all those things.

While we haven’t been to the Fair in a few years it’s sad for all those that this will affect.

They are pretty much the largest private employer in Central OK and lots of those employees work close together in their many warehouses.

In answering a do as we say, don't as we do question, Vice President Pence justifies defying local health authorities, who advise against public political gatherings, such as in Tulsa and Phoenix, in that freedom of speech and the right to peacefully assemble are enshrined in the constitution and even in a health crisis we do not forfeit that. He went on further with what I've heard before which was we need to reopen the economy because suicides went up when it wasn't. When finished answering that question Pence to no surprise of my own thought it was a good time to end the task force meeting.

It may be a little awkward, but you can exercise freedom of speech through a mask. At the risk of sounding evil, maybe it's going to take Pence and Trump hospitalized at the same time before more of America is going to take the virus seriously.

It isn't a civil liberties issue; it's a public health issue.

If you hate wearing a mask your going to hate the ventilator. Heard that today thought I pass it along.

    Wouldn't that be fun.

I just saw on one of the news channels, Stillwater has had a huge spike in cases and they are talking about rolling back to phase 2. They have 143 active cases. Edmond by my figures has 101. Young people not taking this seriously. I'm wondering what class is going to be like this fall at OU and OSU plus all the smaller schools if this keeps up. I guess we'll know in 60 days.

Except 90+ percent of people that get this won’t be on a ventilator.

Haha. OKC's first community spread started at Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. One lady attending a party after returning from Florida, and she felt sick when she went.

It would be a relief -- then Nancy would be acting President. Hopefully her first move will be to fire Barr.
