Every time I see Gilead I think of The Handmaid's Tale.

Plasma I think is going to be the way to go for treatment if you get really sick

Tulsa is ending its Shelter-In-Place order on the 30th. OKC probably is not that far behind.

I am really curious on if this is something that Holt feels is the best move, or if he feels like he is being forced into this change because of the various cities around OKC changing their ordinances yesterday.

    Holt presser:

    ****************

    • Shelter in place through April 30th
    • Fundatmentals don't change until there is a vaccine or a proven treatment
    • No perfect path forward; have to pick the 'least worst'
    • State level decisions do not preclude limitations by city
    • A patchwork of diferent regulations is not workable
    • Comparing most recent data to White House gating criteria
    • We appear to meet WH gating criteria (see below)
    • We are at plateau or decline
    • He would not pick May 1st if not for outside criteria
    • Will not deviate from governor's outline effective May 1st
    • Gatherings of 10 or larger still prohibited
    • If by May 1st the data trends differently, decisions may change

Should be interesting to see the numbers in 2-3 weeks after all the guinea pigs have been out in droves...

Does OKC (or any city/state) have testing (virus or antibody) available for the average Joe or Jane that wants to get tested? If so, any details known (cost and go to doctor, ER, DLO lab, ...)?

    You’re definitely a weird dude.
In what world does "interesting" = "want folks to get sick"? Absolutely disgusting that you would call me a baby killer and now accuse me of wanting folks to get sick.

I think interesting is a very good word for what we’ll see in the next few weeks. I think there’s a good chance that daily new cases will increase. I think there’s a good chance that daily new cases will stay pretty much level. I think there’s a good chance that daily new cases will decrease. And I think that nobody really has any idea which of these will happen.

Yep, could be anything, especially considering the news about it being here 3 weeks earlier than first thought. Thx for the info about testing.

AMC Theatres, the largest movie theater chain in the U.S., won’t reopen its locations until at least this summer.

Props to them. I think this is a perfect opportunity for individuals, businesses and large corporations to demonstrate what freedom really means. If you want to be open or go to places that are open fine. If not don’t.

With Flu season pretty much over. Do you really need at test if your sick and have a cough or fever to let you know you have Covid? Also if you don't have symptoms why would you go get tested. If your negative does mean you couldn't catch it the next day.

All that being said it's the antibodies test everyone should want and get. Not sure how accurate is currently is but I myself would feel at ease if I had antibodies. Still don't mean i would go out and party it up just would mean I have a lower risk to get it or i had it already and didn't know it.

Because plenty of other fun things running around that give us cough plus fever. Ruling out a viral cause is important.

Not a shock. The entire movie industry is sort of an all or none scenario. I guess a theater could reopen and run kids movies and classic films to fill in some gaps.

How about this as a stimulus act: waive the regulations on livestock in OKC! You'd please the small government folks, the preppers, the hipsters, and the families who still rely on animal husbandry to supplement their diets!
