I drove out to the El Reno (Country Club & Elm) Casey's General Store to grab a large bacon cheeseburger pizza. Not bad at all and I will definitely go back again. The store is very clean. The only disappointment was that some of the machines that dispense ice cream or beverages were out of order.
Site work has started at the SW 134th and S Penn location.
I hadn’t noticed that location was on the list but I also noticed today that work had started and a sign had gone up. It’s right across the street from a busy older 7-11, There’s no doubt they’ll take a big hit... I live pretty close by and it’ll be a nice new option...
8000 W Wilshire is under construction. On the SW corner of Council and Wilshire and directly south of a recently reconstructed 7-11. OnCue and Caseys are really forcing 7-11 to up their game
Most Casey's I've stopped at on our trip to Virginia Beach have been dirty, nasty, rundown, and broken. They are everywhere through Missouri, Kentucky, and West Virginia on the way. They are nothing at all like the OnCue's. None of the one's I've stopped at were new at all so I can't say I've ever been to a new one, but I am not impressed at all by what I've seen.
Site work has started at the South Western location.
Casey's just filed a building permit application for the NW corner of NW 150th and Santa Fe.
Interestingly, an older 7/11 is directly south at that same intersection and an OnCue is one mile to the east on Kelley.
Looks like they are ready to take on the big boys in town.
Not counting the El Reno store which is already open, this would make 12 Casey's planned for the OKC area and that number keeps going up.
There is one going in at 134th and Penn, though.
The first 2 OKC-area stores at now open: 13001 W. Reno (NEC of Cemetary) and 8000 W. Wilshire (SWC of Council); hours 5A-11P:
This could be yet another nail in the coffin for 7-11 and Circle K in OKC. These look much better than the Casey's stores I've seen in Missouri.
That’s a pretty plain unremarkable facility. It must be amazing inside based on remarks here about it running 7-11 out of the market.
Having been in the new OKC stores, they are like a smaller OnCue.
They have easy-access restrooms and lots of hot food options, but aren't as extensive otherwise.
Very similar to the nw 7-11's but light years ahead of 90% of their older locations. And the staff was incredibly friendly.
The SW 134th/Penn and SW 149th/Western stores may actually be too close together. That is maybe 2 blocks difference?
Then again, 7/11 seems to do fine with locations spaced that close together (like NW 12th/Santa Fe and SW 119th/Western).
I wonder if they have decided not to go forward with the 12500 N. Mustang ( Mustang and NW Expressway) location? They originally applied for a 4200 sq ft store in January of 2019. Then in February of 2019 they applied for a 9500 sq ft building at the same location. As of today... both are still under review...fees have not been paid...and there is now a for sale sign on that lot.
