    ARANDA BENEFIT SHOW!!!

If you missed the information on their own thread, Aranda had their trailer with all of their equipment stolen while out on tour recently. This has halted all shows and their CD release next month. They are still able to sort of play in town with great fellow musicians that are allowing them to use their equipment. I have planned a benefit show for them this Sunday, July 22nd, at Bora Bora. This is just North of
23rd Street on Walker. It will be from 8pm to Midnight. There will be a $5 cover at the door which will all go to Aranda. The bands that have agreed to donate their time and energy for this show will be 2AM, Albert Aguilar, Luma, Aaron Newman, Gabriel Marshall, and Rocky Kanaga. We will have a silent auction that night as well. Any donations above and beyond the door price are very much appreciated!! If you can't make it out to the show but would like to donate or contribute something for the auction, please contact me ASAP!!

And thank you for all the voting - so far we are keeping them in the top 5 which is what counts.

(A special thanks to Tracey for helping me with this benefit also. I would have pulled my hair out without you girl!! )

And yes, Aranda will be playing and hanging out with us this night too!

awww, you're trip snuck up quick! you guys will have so much fun.

hey we've started another way of helping the guys with votes - if you keep forgetting to go vote send me your email adresses! I'll enter them and all you have to do is confirm the votes when you check your email accounts. You can confirm votes all the way up to the 20th - you don't have to do it the same day you vote. Just make sure you confirm them before the contest ends!!

(Also, everyone check the aranda thread for benefit information - i'm going to put that over there. And I need ideas! )

The band has slipped to number 5 and 6 isn't far behind. Everyone really needs to support them until this round of the contest is over midnight on Friday.

I sent the link to OK news outlets but so far no one has mentioned it.. anyone know a reporter who might do a write up on a local band and plug the voting for them?

I know a ton of reporters and just like the radio stations - it's like pulling teeth to get them to do any kind of story about something like this. They will be all over it if they make it to lollapalooza but they don't want to help anybody get there. That is soooo frustrating to me. Where did this mentality in Oklahoma come from? That is the biggest and most frustrating problem - nobody wants to support music before it hits a national level. Why is that? Do you just not realize that someone has to help every single band that HAS made it? Aerosmith wasn't just born into a huge band. They had to get support from fans and earn their way up just like so many of these local bands. Without help and support from you guys they will never make it. However, Marika from newschannel 4 will be doing a follow up for their equipment being stolen and give details about the benefit show. I appreciate her help on that! And so far I have some really good auction items from nice places like red rock grill and even bath and body works.

    ANYWAY.....KEEP ROCKIN THE VOTES!!!

Angry Re: OKC Band NEEDS a small HAND !

grrrrr....the idiots on the lollapalooza forum are accusing us of cheating!! That just makes me want to vote more to blow the other people away. We are NOT cheating - we are using every email we have not sending strangers emails or using bot programs. Please go vote for the next three days with even more emails and show those A-holes that this is just how we roll in Oklahoma!!!! We work our butts off for things we believe in. These boys deserve this.

    Back to 1st Place!

Lollapalooza :: Last Band Standing 2007

The competition heats up as the Top 20 bands will upload two more MP3s, the votes are reset, and the finalists have from July 9-July 20 to collect as many votes as possible to determine the Top 5. It’s simple: the Top 5 bands with the most votes make it to Chicago to compete live.

The five finalists from online voting will be invited to Chicago to compete in the finale event on August 1st at the Double Door, where two bands will be picked to play at Lollapalooza. One band will be chosen by audience vote and the second band will be chosen by a celebrity judging panel including Perry Farrell and members of The Recording Academy.

Cheating? How can you cheat? You can't! You must post your email addy PLUS you have to use that email to have your vote actually count!

    To Vote:
Enter your email address in the top field, then enter the letters and numbers that you see above into the bottom field and click "Vote". Your email is used only to prove your identity. Only one vote, per email, per person, per day is allowed. Sponsor and MP3.com reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to remove any votes deemed fraudulent or suspect.

I have posted the addy to the voting site on MySpace friends sites which include OzzFest, Ozzy, Pantera, Black Label Soc, Zac Maloy ...even Reba McIntire......and even to ALL of the bands' sites that have, since, requested to be on my MYSpace! There are some real talent out there, folks.

Does that constitute cheating? I really didn't expect that Ozzy would vote...although he should! ...LOL......I figured out the other Friends would vote when they were on the site and read the comment.

The site that has the Voting on it, is set up so that you can not cheat to VOTE! I voted in the early am and then forgot and tried to vote in the afternoon/pm and it said You Already Voted Today!

    GeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeZZZZZZZZZZ....

Oh Well....politics always come into play, Let them Prove it! I have worked my fingers off for this and they can like it or not, as far as I am concerned!

    PLEASE VOTE!

  17. Talking Re: OKC Band NEEDS a small HAND !

They must suspect cheating when a band can get over 2000 votes overnight!

Considering that OKC is the BEST and that we have all voted like KRAZY......just because we slipped to 6th place then bounced back to 1st is no real miracle for Oklahoma!

Ahhhhhh Yes, I am up all of the time. I took a shot of the lightening last week that took out a lot of our electronics. I was standing in the back bedroom when the voltage came up into my body. There was this Gawdawful odor about and I realized that not only was my hair standing on end, as well as the hair on my arms, but the odor was emitting off of me! It smelled of garlic/metal. I was holding Zoi (my chihuahua) and I thought it was her! Until I realized that it was coming from all over me!

I thought I was having a hot flash until I realized it was because the big boom I heard was actually lightening hitting the metal tank by the house!

I guess after all of the last ten years of pushing medications down my throat in the efforts to cure me, I received a cleansing of the toxins. ahhhhhhhhhhh

The only bad thing is my memory took a jolt and my eyes are somewhat dry. It is like being in a bubble, sortakinda like. And the fact that a metal helmet seems to have appeared on my head, or feels like it.

I always had premonitions and a highly charged sense of intuition, not like I read the leaves or anything, however it has greatly benefited my life and those around me.

I have been up for over 48 hours, then down for over 24, since. I, immediately fall asleep and then remain in a comatose state, then I am up and going. However, this has occurred in the past with all of the toxic medications that my body has endured. Always dwelling in an altered state. Never boring to say the least.

It, immediately, healed up the bites on my legs, too. LOL

After being determined "terminally/chronically ill" for the last ten years, it is rather a mystical adventure. I never mind entering new plateaus in my life....there is always something to behold.

My boyheads (sons) tend to find it quite humorous. They are having to drive me around, and they act like I am an old granny. I, always, maintain that giving birth to them ( 9 and 10 lbs at birth and both 6'4" today), exalts me to the high Queen status. If they do not behave then I just may start wearing radical clothing and fart all the time, never noticing either fact. With the lights off I prolly glow.

We are bound for OZZFEST on Aug 2 - DALLAS!

    Running on empty..........

KAS, I have been voting twice every day.

I can't believe they accused OKC of fraud. Look at those other bands who "SHOT UP" so quickly. ... I know they are from Chicago and New York but hey there can't be THAT many people interested in this particular situation if it doesn't exist here in OKC. I mean, OKC IS a major city too (just not quite as big).

But it only takes a few hundred people and Im sure we could get that in OKC just as you could in Chicago or NY.

Another point, maybe people tuning into the site like Aranda's music and voted for them??? I mean, gosh - does it matter they are from OKC? Good music is good music and should be voted for.
    Oklahoma City, the RENAISSANCE CITY!
