So refreshing to finally see Marita Hynes, who OU's softball field is named in honor (Marita Hynes Field). ESPN showed a clip of her during the OU-Northwestern game.
Great to see people living who have fields & stadiums named in their honor. Glad she enjoys softball and lives the enjoyment to have her name attached to something of significance on the OU campus.
Teams to punch their tickets to Oklahoma City:
Oklahoma State University
University of Alabama
University of Oklahoma
University of Minnesota
Just love the mention & attention our city is getting on ESPN throughout the softball super regionals. Can't wait to get the Don E. Porter ASA Hall of Fame Stadium construction finished for the 2020 playoffs.
Glad to see both of our state's major universities advance; however it results in less out-of-state revenue pumped into our local economy.
Congratulations to Oklahoma State & Oklahoma...
One of the Cowgirl's video bombs her coach during an ESPN interview, hilarious.

Yay! OU on past my bedtime. Sorry just had to rant.
Don't know if anyone has been checking the various resale sites, but the WCWS is no longer one of these "best kept secrets." Last time I went to a game featuring OU I could snag seats for $30-50 from the PrimeSports (official) site - not anymore. Session 2 tickets that include both the OSU and OU games tonight are going for well north of $100 each. That's a little pricey for me. If OU won straight through and I wanted tix for each game, that could be around $1,000 ($100 x 2 seats x minimum five games). Can't do that.
Guess I'm going to hold off and save up in the hopes the Sooners make the title series, and maybe catch one of those games. If someone has a line on something a bit more sane drop me a PM

In case anyone was wondering, losers of *today's* games cross over to the opposite bracket to play the winner of the corresponding elimination games. Each of today's winners is off until Sunday, making tomorrow "Elimination Saturday."
The loser of Arizona-UCLA plays the winner of Florida-Alabama, while the loser of OU-OSU plays the winner of Washington-Minnesota. Losers of Florida-Alabama and Washington-Minnesota are, obviously, eliminated.
UCLA looked awfully strong in the early game yesterday. I think I'd pick them over 'Zona. Although OSU is arguably the hottest team in the tourney right now, without Show they lose in a shutout yesterday. I'll pick the Sooners over the Pokes.
On the elimination side, I think Minnesota is a bit starry-eyed in even being here. I like Washington in that matchup. Florida-Bama is a tough call; Florida has next to no pitching behind Barnhill, but Bama's starter should have been rocked for a lot more than one run in that first inning against OU. By a hair's breadth, I'll take Bama over Florida, but man, it's a close call.
That gives elimination-day setups of Florida-Arizona and OSU-Bama.....see how close I get
Too bad the final couldn't be a bedlam game!
SoonerDave, I was impressed with UCLA, and equally impressed with Minnesota's 1st appearance to the WCWS.
Hope we continue to host the WCWS, because it was nice for a change to see our state teams have a little of an edge by playing in a venue in their home state (Oklahoma City).
Recall a bigger stage of collegiate football (21st Century) where OU had to play Florida State & Florida in NCAA championship games in Miami (1-1) & LSU in New Orleans (0-1).
Gotta give it up to our rival OSU in softball; taking down FSU in the Tallahassee regional and against Florida in OKC opening day.
In recent years, teams from Oklahoma & Florida have dominated the WCWS...
Bedlam in softball; it will be a challenge for OU to beat OSU tonight since these teams are familiar with each other although OU has won the previous meetings--anything could happen.
Hope so, just get this strange feeling that the streak might be coming to an end. Would like to see the OU seniors win one more championship since this is their last year together. OSU appears to be on an unstoppable streak; they have found a way to win.
We'll see Bedlam at its best.
This is such a cool event okc gets to host and I’m glad we made the investment to keep it for the long run and likely forever.
OU got to Show early and she was lucky not to get completely blown out in the first inning. OU plated three and stranded two baserunners in scoring position. Juarez dominated Show at the plate, struck out ten of her final 12 batters and allowed only a single earned run. OU's performance really showed just how good these Sooners are.
