    Talking Weekly Live Music Picks

This is where I will be posting my weekly personal picks of live music to go check out. I'm going to try to provide just a brief amount of information about my selections. Feel free to leave comments or questions and interact on this thread. Each week will be different so if there isn't anything that sounds interesting this week, check back next week. I'm going to try to stick with the Thursday announcements since it's right before the weekend and I can check all of the local schedules to make sure I am not missing anyone that I might want to recommend. I'm also going to try to include a variety of musical tastes, but sometimes there isn't a whole lot to choose from.
Bands and local artists - feel free to promote your shows on here, but if you do I ask that you interact and not just post your one liner self promotion of 'come to our show saturday' and then drop off the board. Also, no flyer postings please. There are plenty of other places for you to do that. Thank you in advance!

    June 21st - June 27th Choices

    Friday and Saturday (22nd & 23rd)
Aaron Newman is playing at the Deep Deuce Bar & Grill from 6:30pm - 9:30pm. Aaron has a folk/rock/singer-songwriter sound. He performs his own material as well as songs from his full band, Lemma. Some of the covers you might catch him performing include: John Mayer, Ben Harper, Damien Rice, Elton John, Dave Matthews, and Al Green. Deep Deuce has an outside patio for their performers but will move the show indoors if it happens to rain. There is not a cover to get in and you do not have to be seated at a table. All ages are welcome. They have a full menu. Smoking is permitted on the patio. It's located on 2nd street just north of bricktown. You can find more information about the venue and the artist on the following links:

    Saturday June 23rd
Plainview will be at Danny Bob's in Edmond. Plainview has a red-dirt country sound. They perform their own music plus a few covers from names like Hank Jr, Merle, Jason Boland, and Boston. Yes, Boston. They are a very rocking country band. Danny Bob's is located east of Broadway Ext. on 15th street. Just on the backside of the shopping center on the corner. There is a $5 cover charge for this show.

    Sunday June 24th
The Arts Council of OKC has a Twighlight Concert Series every Sunday in various parks around the metro. This Sunday they have Michael Fracasso, a folk singer, performing in the Will Rogers Park Amphitheater from 6:30- 8:30. This is absolutely free, all ages are welcome. Bring your lawnchairs, blankets, and picnics if you so choose. Pets and glass bottles are NOT allowed. This park is located at NW 36th and Portland.

    Monday June 25th
Myspace Records presents Sherwood in concert at The Conservatory along with The Fold, and Sound the Alarm. Oklahoma's very own Hush Hush Commotion will be the opening act for this concert. All Ages are welcome. No smoking indoors. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. These bands have a very current powerpop rock sound. The Conservatory is located at 8911 N Western.
For more information you can email them at info@conservatoryokc.com

And lastly, there is a large concert for me to choose this week. That would be BB King at Riverwind Casino Saturday night. Tickets are $49.50 and the show begins at 8:00 PM. I don't need to tell you who BB King is!! He doesn't play the blues, he IS the blues!!

Well there you have my picks for this week. If you have any questions or need further information, please let me know. In the next week or so I will be featuring a different artist AND a different venue every week on new threads so be looking for that.

The Recliners might be in trouble tonight with the weather

Pearl's have a cover for their outside patio or do they just cancel if the weather is bad?

I've heard them at Dan McGuinness...Lead guitar used to be the drummer for Subroza...They have only been around for less than a year (I think) so they will only get better
