Thread: Noodee

  1. Default Noodee

Stumbled across this Facebook page this morning for Noodee.

Looks to be going in by Guernsey Park but not a lot of info on the FB page yet. Appears to have been started in mid November.

Chick-n-Beer just told me to follow them on Twitter, and now I'm curious.

If this is what it looks like, really look forward to it. Seems like poke bowls have taken off other places, it was only a matter of time.

Noodee and OKie Poke will both have their official openings tomorrow in the old Guernsey Park space in Uptown.

I went to a preview event last night and really enjoyed it.

When you enter, you go to the right and down a few steps to the Okie Poke line, where they have a bunch of bowls or you can build your own. I ordered the Cowboy Poke and it was fantastic. They have tons of interesting sauces and add-ins.

I believe they will have the poke line be open 11A-8P.

Nodee will be serving from 9P to 1A. Not sure if these are final hours or just the opening weekend.

This is a sit-down ordering experience where you can choose from 4 broth-based dishes and 3 wok-cooked dishes. And then you can completely build your own as well.

I had the #3 which was beef broth and grilled steak. Really tasty and a very large portion.

With the noodle dishes you also get this little decanter of 4 different sauces. One was a spicy garlic sauce which I LOVED. It's quite hot so be careful but great garlic flavor. There was also one with chopped peanuts and garlic (adds nice texture), another with pickled jalepenos and one more I can't completely recall. But it allows you to adjust the spiciness and and texture of your meal which I particularly appreciated.

There is also a small bar and I tried their spicy margarita which was excellent. Not overly sweet and just a hint of heat for a really nice and fresh cocktail. They have other drinks and a handful of beers.

For now, the upstairs is not being used but they will have occasional music on the huge and beautiful outdoor patio.

Man... I was really excited about this place but have been keto for a month now and it's off limits.... Was really hoping they would have shiritaki noodles as an option..... Guess it will have to be a cheat day if I ever decide to have one of those.

I stopped by today for lunch, and I enjoyed it.

I was able to separate the two different proteins I got (tuna and spam), but I wouldn't suggest doing it. Pictured also is double portions. I didn't need it though. Sorry my picture doesn't show the depth of the bowl.

I also asked if they knew that another poke place was opening with a similar name and in the general area. They told me they were not aware.

The owner, Truong Le, is very well away of the proposed Okie Poke further west on 23rd because he and I talked about it immediately after I wrote that story.
