In that case, I want official signage to refer to the western portion of Uptown as the Fried Chicken Subdistrict, and the eastern portion as the Donut Subdistrict.

Yea when they posted those pics it was super obvious from the windows alone. Then you see the vault.

This location is going to kill it. The bar crowd will flock here post 2am.

Space looks cool. That ceiling is incredible.

Never heard of Hurts Donut Co. but after checking them out online I think it's a great fit for the district.

I'm ecstatic at this becoming the donut district!

And don't forget about Holy Rollers up the street in the Paseo!

Anyone know if the other side of this building also has a basement? I've heard rumblings of a bar going in the basement, but if Hurts is the only side that has a basement I would assume the bar idea is kaput.

Awwww, I thought they (Hurts) were going to make a big production secret out of their new location, making a promotional game out of trying to find it. Alas. Glad they're going to be closer than Norman now!

A restaurant and bar is going in below Hurts.

They went ahead and revealed the location on social media today because of OKCTalk, lol.

They're going to have contests for free donuts in the coming weeks.

Yeah, they had asked me to sit on the exact location which I did for a couple of months.

But then people started figuring it out and they agreed that it was probably best just to put the word out.

Really excited to see this old building come back to life and their space should be quite cool. That Old School Bagels in the Rise seems to stay very busy so I suspect this new place is going to kill it.

The best part is the hours. 24/7 options for donuts is dangerous.

Looks like their grand opening is tomorrow at 5 AM.

Yes, went last night for a bit of a soft opening.

The place is super cool and on a highly visible corner, although their signage is not up just yet. They are going to get a lot of business, including late night.

Hoping it’s temporary as it’s just a panel inside the old bank box sign. Also hoping I can withstand the smell of fried bread every time I step outside my house for better or worse.

besides an article in the news paper did they get anything for camping out? like did the 1st 10 customers get free donuts for a year or anything like that?

I have no idea...I just saw it on my way to show at Tower. Honestly camping out for anything is pretty dumb in my book. Whatever. To each his own.

No offense to Hurts. I do like their VOODOO approach to things. However, if you want to support a local startup, go to Holy Rollers up the street to the Plaza in the Paseo Plunge. Their artisan doughnuts kick ass. Slightly different animals and I am hoping both are equally successful. Best to both of them.

They were giving away a year's worth of free donuts to some of the first people through the door.

No offense to Holey Rollers. I get that theyre vegan and gluten-free. But they’re not really donuts. Only had one experience with them but I essentially got cake in the shape of a donut. And yes, I know what cake donuts are. Still not the same as cake donuts. So yes, very different animals.
