OnCue would be a good corporate relocation target for OKC. Thoughts ?

I doubt they have many corporate employees.

I just know that 7 Eleven is still much larger and their offices are located in a small buidling at 20th & S. MacArthur.

Southland Corp in Dallas is the parent of 7/11, or it used to be. 20th and MacArthur is the state HQ owned by the Brown family. I'm thinking more on the lines of QuickTrip that OnCue may possibly be someday. They should have no problem out growing Stillwater.

The local 7 Eleven operation is completely separate and autonomous from the rest of 7 Eleven.

They are still much bigger than OnCue by a long shot and house all their corporate employees in that S. MacArthur facility.

I agree it would be nice to have them move down from Stillwater but I don't think they would ever have that many employees in an office.

Loves has a campus, no? Unless I'm forgetting something they're not much more than a convenience store/gas station company are they?

It's certainly isn't going to be a Fortune 500 company anytime soon...but they might be more inclined to increase their corporate sponsorship throughout the city if they were headquartered here.

Loves operates 400 locations in 40 states and is adding 20 to 25 a year and are actively pursuing acquisitions all over the country.

OnCue does not operate outside of Central Oklahoma and therefore 7 Eleven is a much better comparison.

Love's has 15,000 employees and they are building new hotels as well.

Love's is the #22 largest private company in the US. Their 2015 had a revenue of ~14.2 Billion...

Loves is a lot bigger than just a convenience store/ gas station. They operate the 400 travel stops plus they own the fuel infrastructure that supplies those 400 travel stops through Gemini and Musket . Over the past 10 years Loves has also gotten into the Tire care business and has recently built retreading facilities and tire distribution facilities so now they are recycling tires. Furthermore, they offer Factoring(credit) services to truck companies.

I image Oncue probably outsources a lot of the administrative services like IT. Loves has a couple hundred people just for IT operations.

I believe 7-11 is going to move their offices and operations to behind the Francis Tuttle on Reno and Rockwell, In addition to buying land on the NW corner of Reno and Rockwell for a new store, they bought more property to the north of Francis Tuttle recently.

Coming down today; Oncue does not mess around:

BTW, someone mentioned this being too big a site for a typical Oncue...

At 1.75 acres it would be about average, with several of their locations being quite larger.

Has anyone seen a traffic study for this? I live in the neighborhood. The intersection at NWEXPY and Blackwelder is terrible. Im also not thrilled about traffic possibly being routed through neighborhood.

    Welcome to the site!

This property already has commercial zoning so there won't be any approval process or additional requirements for OnCue other than filing for a standard building permit.

    What about a traffic study?

As I mentioned above, one is not required as this property already has the proper zoning.

    Yes, that's a good idea.

They have yet to filed their building permit but traffic is not part of that and approval is usually a rubber stamp.

I actually do not think this is going to be a great performing store for them. It's awkwardly located and because of where it sits on the ROW it's not going to be a great "neighborhood" gas station/convenience store.

Why wouldn't it be a great neighborhood store? These are the cleanest, most well lit and most well staffed c-stores in the city.

They are by far the best c-store in the city. I give them as close to 100% of my business as possible. All of their stores seem to be really busy, so I don't really see why this one would be different.

I misread Teo's post as he was referring to how the store will sit. He may be right on that if residents in surrounding hoods can't get there easily.

Am I missing something? Can't the surrounding neighborhoods just come right up Blackwelder? I'm sure there will be an entrance from Blackwelder since it sits right at the corner with NWX.

Yeah I saw that too, so I'm not sure what the issue is

I think this location will do great. There isn’t another large and convenient store around penn square or belle isle.

There is a red lght at black welder and nw expressway so that is where many will come in and out at. I think this store will do great. Probably will kill it around the holidays when that area is packed. Just my opinion
