Thread: What kind of spider is this?

    Default What kind of spider is this?

    I have not seen this kind before here in OKC, anyone know what type this is? It made a very large web from the roof to the grass (8ft x 4ft) and is about the size of a quarter with the legs, very large spider.

    I think it may be a female Spotted Orbweaver. We had one that built a web right outside our patio door. They put up a web, then consume it, then build it again the next night.

    Brazilian Child Eater. Probably want to keep the kids away from it.

    That's exactly what it is. They're great spiders to have around.

    That's a common grass spider. Also good to have outside, so if you can, relocate it by putting a large cup over it and then sliding a sheet of paper under it.

    We get these down at our cabin near the Arbuckles.

    They make some cool looking webs and love to eat grasshoppers.

    That looks like a Nubian Kissing Spider..... If you kiss it. It turns into a princess.

    I recall you saying you lived south but I never thought it was South Carolina. I spent the summer there. Nice place.

    I believe this to be a garden spider.

    i'm confident that it is... at least that's what google returned when i gis'd 'black widow' for the joke. i wouldn't hold any spider like that let alone a black widow.

    In my house...it would be a dead spider. Don't care how much good they do.
