So my youngest is just a few weeks off of another birthday. Last year, he raised funds to be part of a mission trip to northern Thailand and was there for Christmas, his 19th on New Year's Eve and several days into the new year.
Today, rather than jackets, music, devices, etc., I learned of his 20th birthday request. He wants his mother and I to assist him with his goal to raise funds to supply water to folks in Tigray, Ethiopia.
Times like this I look toward a mirror and realize I may not be much, but his Mama and I dinna do so bad. If you'd be interested in knowing more, this is from his Facebook page:
For my birthday this year, I'm giving up gifts to help bring the gift of life to the people of Tigray, Ethiopia.
I've started a campaign with charity:water called "20/20/20"
It's simple, 20 dollars, 20 days, for 20 years.
With a 20 dollar donation you can provide clean water for one person in the village, and I've set a total goal of $3,500 which will provide for at least 175 people.
Join with me this new years to bring not only a new year, but a new life for this village!
