I'm hoping someone can help me identify a movie I was watching about a week ago ... HBO (normal cable) or Showtime. I've searched their schedules but haven't located it as yet.

I didn't get in at the start. It had no actors that I recognized. The setting was contemporary and I think was in or about Mexico City. The theme was serious drama. The main character was a police detective or something like that. Various people started getting assassinated and the government started thinking that the apparently unrelated assassinations were the start of a revolution. Fireworks were used by the revolutionaries, with different colors, as signals. A professional lady (a dancer, as I recall) trained the detective's daughter, and, as it develops, she was harboring the leader of the revolutionaries, who got captured at the end.

If you've seen this movie, the above should be enough for identification purposes.

Can anyone help me figure out the name of this movie, I'd like to get it.

PS: Whoops! I see that this message should have been posted in the Movies & TV forum! Sorry. I'd move it there if I knew how.
