SAN ANTONIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO UNDERGO 2 BILLION DOLLAR MULTI PHASE EXPANSION

Starting with 950 million dollar phase one.

San Antonio International Airport officials are expected to present to City Council next month their 2040 Strategic Development Plan after a multiyear effort involving a wide range of regional and national stakeholders.

The initial phase of that comprehensive redevelopment plan is estimated to cost between $880 million and $950 million.

The centerpiece of that first phase is a new airport Terminal C that would accommodate as many as 17 additional gates, including up to five new international gates. It would feature a wider concourse design and passenger flow than existing terminal space and house a new international arrivals center.

Airport officials project that construction alone will cost between $790 million and $840 million. The project will be funded with a mix of passenger fees, Federal Aviation Administration money and airport bonds.
