  1. Default Tattoo artist who specialises in faces

Hello, I lost a cat on Wed and was wondering if anyone knows a good tattoo artist that is good with faces / portraits? Thanks.

15th Street Tattoo up in Edmond has some folks who are amazing with detail line work and portraits. I'd recommend checking them out and going through their portfolios.

While I have no ink, I have a friend who has several portrait tats that are exceptional. He said to see Josh Reynolds who owns Mind Bender Tattoos at 39th and Tulsa. That's who did his and like I said, they're like looking at photographs.

Am I the only one that originally thought the OP was looking for a face tatt specialist?

That's what I was thinking, In fact, I wish state law would allow some of the best tattoo artists to do facial tattooing such as eyeliner and eyebrows. Someone very close to me suffers from a condition known as alopecia, where the body's immune system attacks hair folicles. In her case, it is total hair loss. Right now, it is illegal for any one our city's wonderfull tattoo artist to do her eyebrows for her. I She's very self consious and eybrow pencils just don't look right for her.

I've seen ink work where hair and details were done so well, it looked real. But if done for purposes like I mention, it is considered cosmetic work.

Unless I'm mistaken, it can only be done in a doctors office. I have a friend who went to get all the training and hasn't done any of it because he has to work under a physician. He has all the training to do cosmetic tattooing (eyeliner, aeroelas for breast cancer patients, etc.) but would have to rent space in a physicians office to do it.

That's what I was refering to. I wish the law could be changed to allow top notch Tattoo artists to do this work as it is currently illegal.

It must be done in a licensed medical setting.

We were doing tattoos in oklahoma long before they were legal some of them quite excellent. It's kind of a grey area...because people literally have their faces tattood Regularly around the cheeks and temples. Scissors, anchors, I see it all the time.

I would just sit with a tattoo artist (probably the owner of the shop) and say. "I'd like a tattoo of two half moons on my face." Fill out the paperwork. Do the deal and if ANYONE tries to say anything. You asked for two half moons on your face above your eyes and any disregard for that violates your first amendment rights of freedom of expression. The fact they resemble eyebrows is purely consequential.

Go talk to the owners at lotus they are really cool people and as with any counter culture, they enjoy stickin it to the man.

I'm well aware that tattooing has been taking place for years, legal or otherwise, and I've seen plenty of face work, though never inquired as to where the work was done. I do know there are some artists that don't want to risk loosing their license, which is understandable. I will pass this info on. Thanks.
