This is a little breakfast/lunch place on the NW corner of NW 10th & Penn.

Had breakfast there on Saturday and was very impressed.

I had chicken fried steak which was very, very good. In fact, I wasn't really even that hungry and ended up eating most of it because it was perfectly cooked; light and not greasy and the pepper cream gravy was delicious.

I also had their home fries which were fantastic. More or less cut in ovals like potato chips but not quite that thin and cooked with onions and peppers (or without, your choice). They were a bit crisp but not overcooked and the onions and peppers were nicely caramelized and sweet.

I'm not much of a breakfast person (hence the CFS) but I would go back to this place in a heartbeat.

It's a classic diner with vinyl booths and a handful of tables, which I felt added to the whole experience.

Just one very nice woman waiting tables and someone in the kitchen, but they were pretty busy and my service was still great and my food came out quite fast. Prices are reasonable.

    Highly recommend.

I believe they just did a lot of upgrades to the interior in the last month or so. I was in there a couple of weekends ago and the booths were all new.

I have to recommend the big ham steak for breakfast too..... It's a massive hunk of tasty ham they serve!

I used to go there for breakfast years ago, back in the late 80's & 90's. I would swap between there and Jimmy's Egg on 16th & May. It was pretty good then.

I'd sometimes go there when Nic's line was too long. Always liked it.
