Default Alcohol Sales at College Events

It looks like Texas is going to start and it seems to be a growing trend.

I didn't realize that KState and West Virginia already did and I do remember being able to buy beer when attending OU - Colorado football in Boulder many years ago.

SMU started selling beer last month at the newly renovated moody coliseum.

I think this trend will continue to grow.

OU sells in the club level and for 1 game in the santee lounge.

I think the santee lounge will get beer again soon, not so sure about the general public.

I thought alcohol in the stadium was limited to the suites only, not the club levels in general.

Came back to the entire club level at the start of the 2012 season. And came to the basketball pregame that year also. This season it has also come to the basketball Chesapeake courside club at halftime

It's really sad to think about the revenue the university could generate from beer sales since many fans are loading up before the game begins.

Last time I was in Norman, we stopped across the street from the stadium and a 12 can of beer was selling for $5 or $6 a can. The stadium concessions could really generate some additional revenue from this instead of letting it go to the street vendors.

But selling beer in the stadium actually reduces alcohol consumption ...

Possible. Back in the day we snuck quite a bit of high-proof alcohol into Oklahoma Memorial Stadium and Lloyd Noble Arena for both sports events and concerts. I know OSU grads that will say the same of Stillwater's facilities.

It used to be that Lloyd Noble didn't sell beer period. I always thought that it was because they were on university property. But they sell beer at concerts now so I don't know anymore.
