Are there any buildings or monuments in Oklahoma City dedicated to the memory of Kay Francis?

She was an actress that seems to have been forgotten in Oklahoma. At one time, she was the highest paid actress in Hollywood.....but you don't hear much mentioned about her locally.

There are not any tributes that I'm aware but she was obviously the biggest Oklahoma born (Oklahoma City) female movie star of her era. Will Rogers certainly eclipses that for males.

Not a bad voice either.



She does have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

You should read her diary sometime. She donated all of her personal notes and diaries to Wesleyen University.

Talk about an interesting read.....aside from movie related notes, it details her sexual encounters....and there were many. She talks about having somewhere around ten abortions during her lifetime. Some of them more physically draining than others. Parts of it are rather tragic.

"My life? Well, I get up at a quarter to six in the morning if I'm going to wear an evening dress on camera. That sentence sounds a little ga-ga, doesn't it? But never mind, that's my life...As long as they pay me my salary, they can give me a broom and I'll sweep the stage. I don't give a damn.
