Default NBA cancels first two weeks of season.

NEW YORK - NBA Commissioner David Stern canceled the first two weeks of the season Monday after owners and players were unable to reach a new labor deal and end the lockout.

Top negotiators for both sides met for more than seven hours Monday, returning to bargaining about 14 hours after ending talks Sunday night.

Stern said both sides are "very far apart on virtually all issues. ... We just have a gulf that separates us."

The cancellation includes all games scheduled to be played through Nov. 14.

"Despite extensive efforts, we have not been able to reach a new agreement with the players' union that allows all 30 teams to be able to compete for a championship while fairly compensating our players," NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver said in a statement.

Doesn't sound too promising for the rest of the season.

What if this results in OKC losing our beloved team?

Ask that question about other teams who's profits don't keep them out of the red.

Thunder this will not cause the team to leave OKC we love the team and we will still support them if there is a lockout

Just heard that of 8 of those games, that only 2 would have been at home. Not like OKC was going to miss out on a ton of revenue and sales tax dollars. Yes, those two games would be big for downtown but if an agreement can be reached, there will be 39 home games left.

I think the bigger problem is that if they haven't struck a bargain by now the entire season is in peril... I hate this!

I'm thinking 1/4 to 1/2 of the season lost at this point. Hope i'm wrong and I really hope it doesn't last the whole season.
