    Default History Channel

I LOVE watching 'How the States Got There Shapes'. Entertaining and informative. Anyone else watching?

I've watched it during an earlier run; they re-run it every year or so. Agreed that it's quite interesting!

They still have history on the History Channel? It seems like every time I watch the History Channel there's some show about Nostradamus, the Antichrist, UFOs, or the Apocalypse.

I agree that you have to search for real history shows. Most of the ones they actually do get on are excellent though.

How do you know they're excellent? If the will present garbage at 7 pm I usually don't trust them at 8.

I watch most of the actual history shows and ignore the others. I trust my judgement on what is an excellent show. I'm sure you have your own opinion so you can watch MTV and CSPAN instead. LOL

Ooh I <3 How the States Got There Shapes!

I wish they wouldn't jump around as much though. Maybe focus an entire episode on 1 state rather than piecing it together...for example they showed how OK got its panhandle on the TX one, but what if someone had missed that episode. When the OK episode came around...how'd they get the panhandle?

The story of the panhandle is interesting. Greer County would be another ideal story for the show.

Maybe OETA could come up with a show about how the counties in Oklahoma got their shapes. That might be interesting.

I was at Pops today and they are filming for a show called "Modern Marvels". I guess the awning that covers the fuel pumps is one of the longest in the country that isn't supported by columns. Interesting!! They were also inside filming all the sodas.
