Russain Sam... are you going to add skywalks to your model?
Russain Sam... are you going to add skywalks to your model?
WOW!! Nice work Sam!
Elijah, I've been contacted by an architect who wants to know if you would be interested in visiting Oklahoma City.
He is willing to host you as a guest at his house. He's a fairly well-known architect who has a house in the emerging Cottage District/SoSA neighborhood.
He is wanting to start a fund to pay for airfare. He would start it with $50 and challenge others to contribute. He estimates airfare would cost about $1,000. He wants to see if you would be interested in visiting during the Creativity Forum.
I am curious what others on this board think. Is this an effort that might gain support if publicized?
Oh, thank you Steve!!! It's great. Sure I would. But...
In our country is very difficult to get a U.S. visa. It needs to have property (car, apartment, country house) or a high salary (not less than $ 2000). I have no property, and my salary is only $ 600. But there is one more chance - an invitation from a U.S. citizen, but better from a company or organization in writing. I will try to contact the consulate in St Petersburg and learn more.
PS Kerry thanks
Make this happen. I will also kick in to the pot.
Ditto
I'll kick in some.
I'm down to help
Russian Sam your becoming somewhat of a celebrity around here, not bad considering you have never been here but maybe we can change that as well! The Devon Tower looks awesome!
Nicely Done Russian Sam.
If Sam can get a visa, I would be happy to set up a link to a PayPal donation site so people could contribute towards his air fare.
I'm sure we could easily raise the needed funds.
Russian Sam, I think what is being proposed is a tourist visa, not a work visa.
Hi guys, thnaks for support. I have three news - two good and one bad.
First. Tomorrow or the day after tomorrow will be ready my model! Welcome to www.skyscrapercity.com. Also, I'll post photos on www.flickr.com
Second. I can come to you, but ...
Third. I need a letter of invitation from the organizers of the Creative Forum (November 15-17), which should be pointed out that they pay for my trip (although I can pay for itself, without airfare). Without this letter, I cannot get a visa. That is my trip should look like a business.
I'm sure we can get that arranged. Someone with some more pull than I do can probably help with that.
SkyWestOKC, I hope
I need your decision within two weeks, so I was able to shift vacation from work to middle of November. Excuse my english. And thanks again for all what you doing for me.

Well, I don't carry any weight around the city (Meaning I'm not that important of a person, a mere passerby), so I probably can't do anything to get you invited. But I am sure someone on this forum with some more importance or knowledge of who to talk to can get this arranged. I also hope you get to come out.
This model looks so great, Russian Sam! You have done marvelous work. It's hard to believe that you did this without ever having seen our city in person. Like so many others, I hope you'll be able to visit us in the months to come. Thank you for selecting Oklahoma City for your modeling project.
Russian Sam will construct a scale model of DT Tulsa next,I was told!maybe I will post some of Russian Sam's dt OKC pics in The Tulsanow forum to let them see what talent is coming their way!
Anyone hear from Russian Sam? I wonder if Steve or anyone is putting together something for him like a trip to showcase his models?
I've been on vacation, but I'm back and I've got a column out for tomorrow.
