Anything special happening at RED for Valentine's Day, tuck?
Regular menu for Valentine's day with some great specials...getting pretty full for Sunday, Friday and Saturday.
Tried to get in on Saturday at 8 with no chance. Earliest was 845. You could still get in at like 615 or so. Friday was more open.
Was there last Friday and the place was packed.
Ironically this lady a few weeks ago at work just INSISTED that Red had shut down. She made me call them because she didn't believe they were open. Then when I confirmed it for her, she asked if they had moved. It was so odd.
I think I'm heading there tonight. Any new or recent developments, Tuck? Anyone else have good or bad experiences?
Every experience I've had at Red Prime has been blissful. The food and service are always excellent and the wine list is great. It's a wonderful place to have a big dinner, but hanging out at the bar and having cocktails and cupcakes at happy hour is equally fun.
I'm a big fan of the space as well. The smaller enclosed booths are fabulous for intimate dinners and they also help deaden some of the sound if you're with someone who's hard of hearing. If you have a slightly larger party, the enclosed room in the turntable area is like having your own little world within the restaurant. The upstairs is a fantastic setting for special events, and their catering selections are both tasty and well thought out (don't require much silverware/space/mess/etc.).
Aaaaaaand that is my rave review.
The wife and I always share the $30-something meal and sometimes add one more side. Plenty of food for two people and very reasonable.
Went last night and they were on their game as usual. Thumbs up, Tuck!
- Bump.
Any news on how they're doing recently? I'm planning a valentines dinner and was wondering how'd Red Prime would go down
I think it would be fabulous for a Valentines dinner. I love their food and atmosphere.
We were there about a month ago. Took our two sons, to celebrate the oldest ones 21st birthday. It was wonderful.
Nothing but good things to say about the place . Every time me and the wife have been there it's been a great experience.
Last one in the metro to get there but the wife and I went last night...iceberg bowl salad was excellent...Got a 7 oz filet with the very tasty chimichurri sauce...Love me some sauces so I was definitely excited to have so many options
Wife can't drink as she is pregnant so we stuck to water and got out for $130 including tip which is on par with a Big Night Out
Can't say that we like to plop down that much on a regular basis but we will certainly splurge there again
tuck are you opening up a new gastro pub in norman?
No, No, No...I've had all of Norman I need for a long time!
No, the new gastropub going in the old Iron Starr location is brought to you by the people who own Blu Fine Wine and Food, and The Library.
So I'm going to Red Prime for the 1st time for my birthday dinner. I only backread 3 pages looking for suggestions, but I was wondering what I should know going into this place. Menu suggestions? Deals to look out for? Things to request seating wise, or any other random quirks?
When I go on a date or with another couple I prefer to call ahead and get a private booth. I think they have four on the 1st floor. They are very private and intimate. 2-6 could eat at one.
Everything I've ever had was good, but the $35 meal is excellent. I do the tamale as an appetizer, a small steak, mac and cheese and dessert.
iMAX86...I hope I'm not too late. I am sending you a private message regarding Red Prime; have a great time!
The wife and I went tonight at 4:45pm for some appetizers and wine before going to the Home Improvement Show at the COX Center.
You can't beat their $3 apps!
