What an amazing movie.. heartwrenching, compelling.. I watched it twice ... and it's a long movie!

It is a long movie. It didn't completely come together for me in the end, unlike similarly constructed films like Crash and Bobby. Still a good movie though with amazing performances, my favorite being Arianna Barazza as the Mexican nanny.

Yeah, I was wishing they would have had a little more of an upbeat, hopeful ending as well...

Crash was awesome, nothing compares to that but it also had tragic circumstances.. ( his brother ).

This movie kept me on the edge of my seat for over 2 hours... pretty miraculous since I have zero attention span.

I do wish it had a more hopeful ending.. it was pretty sad movie but what wonderful performances! I agree, the nanny gave a performance that was amazing.. I think everyone did actually.

I was on the edge of my seat too, especially with the Nanny/kids storyline.

It wasn't so much that the ending was depressing, but that the storylines weren't linked together well enough structurally or thematically. And the deaf Japanese girl subplot just felt out of place.

Yeah, I agree .. I wish they focused less on the Japanese girl and more on why the couple was in Morocco to begin with and how this experience helped them heal .. I also wished that they would have come home and found a way to get the nanny back.. also that the older brother was just injured and somehow survived.. it did leave me hanging and wishing for more closure. It was all tied together by the rifle. That was the common denominator but it takes awhile to see that. It was also distracting going from storyline to storyline but that's what kept me glued to the movie.. I didn't even want to miss a minute of it.

Enjoyed the film immensely, even though it took a while for it to all "connect".
I was so emtionally drawn to the Japanese girl I was going to cry if she jumped off the balcony.

omg.. I was so dreading that.. I just knew she would jump.... Did we ever figure out what she wrote in the letter to the cop?

I lost it with the brothers .. and the nanny broke my heart when her son picked her up.. I cried both times I saw it and I even knew what would happen!
