Tonight, the Hornets end their 4 game west coast road trip at Phoenix, the Hornets now having lost 5 in a row with last night's dissapointing loss to Sacramento, 100-110, before another Sacramento home court sellout crowd of 17,317. We led at the half, 56-53, were tied 80-80 at the end of 3, but lost it in the 4th quarter. We are now at 8-12.
As for Phoenix, though the Suns started at a luke-warm pace, after their record was 4-5, they won nine ... count 'em ... NINE games in a row, and were then 13-5! The winning string was broken Saturday last, losing at Los Angeles to the Clippers 91-101, putting them at 13-6 right now.
Fan support at Phoenix is in the middle of the league at 15th. The America West Arena holds 18,422 but, despite their record, they are yet to have a sellout this year. Their season "high" is 18,207 v. the Knicks on 12/9. Average home attendance is 16,980.
