Damn. Always enjoyed him on the radio, and the few times I got to interact with him in person he was always gracious and great to talk to.

oh man... way back when i still lived with my folks, they'd almost always have talk radio on... i think mccarville was one of the last local radio political hosts that ktok aired before moving almost exclusively to syndicated content.

McCarville was super and I can second your recollection of KTOK back in that era. He was a gracious host and just as pleasant in person in the time or two I saw him at a remote or some promotional event KTOK would have. He was really the very last of about a twenty-plus year era of local talkradio that included some names like John Dayle (and his crazy moon landing conspiracies), Carlton Cordell, Bob Durgin, Jackson Kane, and even B.J. Wexler. Tremendous bygone era.

I just hate how great stations like KTOK have just gone the way of the dinosaur, but that's a different thread, I suppose.

    SoonerDave,
I enjoyed Mike and all the folks you mentioned. I really liked Jackson Kane's daily comment.
